A Unique Journey, Every Time

Every playthrough of Heading Out unfolds as a completely unique journey. The game is shaped by the choices you make in branching narratives and through procedurally generated encounters. A dynamic radio system delivers commentary, news, and music that is tailored specifically to your actions, making your story feel truly personal.

This isn’t just a story; it’s a race for your life. You’ll need to engage in high-speed pursuits to evade those who are hunting you. Between the chases, you’ll need to manage your resources, deciding when to stop for gas, when to rest, and when to push your luck on the open road.

From Critical Acclaim to a New Horizon

Heading Out is developed by Serious Sim, a Warsaw-based indie studio known for creating thought-provoking games with unique narrative mechanics, including the acclaimed Radio Commander.

They’ve teamed up with the talented Crunching Koalas, who have worked on huge titles like Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales and This War of Mine, to bring this experience to console.

The game first launched on Steam in May 2024, where it received critical acclaim for its distinctive visual style and emotionally resonant themes. Now, a whole new audience can experience this unique adventure.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
