Heroes Trials is the latest title to come out of the Ratalaika Games stable – they of Shadow of Loot Box fame – bringing with it a joyful looking RPG that promises to not only be full of challenge, but delivering enough heart-warming tales to keep even the most hardened RPG’er happy.
Priced at just £5.99 – with a small launch discount available for those who get in early – Heroes Trials sees you taking on the roles of siblings Elia and Zoel, as they attempt to become worthy defenders of the land. And it will only be by partaking in 10 special quests when this worthiness will be found. Will you be able to rise to the position of defender of your homeland… or stay forever as a trainee!
By controlling both heroes, you’ll gain access to a variety of abilities, letting you solve some lovely puzzles and getting yourself ready for battle. That will mean you get the chance to decide exactly how you wish to play the game – as a shooter, as a speedrunner, or as an explorer’s dream.
However you wish to play though, a helpful navigation system, lovely soundtrack and decent mechanics should see Heroes Trials combining the best elements of your more traditional RPG, with a compact experience that does away with repetition, filler and grinding. And I’m sure I’m not the only way who is happy to keep away from those three things!
