The choppers are inbound, and a new tour of duty is about to begin in Hell Let Loose: Vietnam.

During a world exclusive reveal at the Future Games Show, Team17 and Expression Games have announced Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, a brand-new, standalone game from the world of their hugely successful 2021 tactical first-person shooter.

This new platoon-based, hardcore FPS is not a DLC or an expansion; it’s a completely new experience that will transport the series’ signature 50v50 warfare from the fields of World War II to the dense jungles and dramatic terrains of the Vietnam War.

You’ll find it coming to Xbox, PlayStation and PC (Steam).

A New War, A Familiar Brutality

The original Hell Let Loose was a stunning and visceral experience that we were huge fans of. In our 4/5 review, we called it “a great bit of brutal warfare and one I know I’ll be keeping installed for a long time to come,” praising its intense 50v50 battles where teamwork is essential.

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam aims to retain that beloved core gameplay base – where victory can only be achieved through tactics, strategy, and communication – while introducing a host of new mechanics and a completely new theatre of war that will challenge veterans and newcomers alike.

Welcome to the Jungle

This new title is set during the Vietnam War, focusing on the period between 1965-1973. The developers are aiming for an authentic, atmospheric, and historically sensitive experience, with a focus on the unique challenges of a war with no front lines.

You will be thrown into dramatic new terrains across six new, sprawling maps. The gameplay will be a high-caliber experience of authentic warfare, where teamwork is paramount to survival.

This is a brand-new experience that encapsulates the unique feeling of the Vietnam War. It will be a true combined arms affair, featuring air, water, armour, and infantry combat that all must work together to achieve victory.

Key Features: The Tools of a New Conflict

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam introduces several new game-changing mechanics that are designed to reflect the specific tactics and technologies of the era.

For the first time, players will have access to fully operational helicopters. These crucial new units will play a pivotal role in transporting soldiers to landing zones, delivering vital supplies, conducting reconnaissance, and offering devastating aerial firepower.

The war will also be fought on the water. You will be able to take control of heavily armed vessels, such as the iconic U.S. PBR (Patrol Boat, River), to dominate the extensive river systems.

Tunnel Networks

The North Vietnamese forces will have a unique strategic advantage with the ability to construct extensive tunnel networks. These tunnels can be used for surprise attacks and rapid troop movements, meaning that mastering counter-tactics will be absolutely essential to winning the battle.

A new front has opened in the world of hardcore tactical shooters. With the promise of new vehicles, new strategic possibilities, and the same brutal, team-based gameplay that made the original a hit, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a must-watch for all fans of the genre.

Your deployment is on the horizon.
