The jungles of Vietnam have become the latest battleground for fans of brutally authentic multiplayer warfare, as Hell Let Loose: Vietnam launches on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC.
Priced at £34.99 for the Standard Edition or £54.99 for the Deluxe Edition, this standalone entry takes the large-scale combat of the original Hell Let Loose and throws it into one of the most challenging environments imaginable.

Welcome To The Jungle
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam moves the series away from the battlefields of World War II and into the Vietnam War, where dense jungle, winding rivers and towering mountain terrain create a very different kind of fight.
Players can join either the North Vietnamese Army or US Armed Forces, with 50-player teams divided across specialised units and 17 distinct battlefield roles. Infantry, armour, reconnaissance, mortar and helicopter squads all have their own jobs to perform, meaning charging ahead with a rifle is rarely the smartest way to win.
There are six large-scale maps inspired by real-world locations, while Warfare and Offensive modes return alongside additional gameplay variations designed to keep the battles unpredictable. As with the original game, communication and coordination are going to be every bit as important as having a steady trigger finger.
Helicopters, Patrol Boats And Underground Warfare
Vietnam brings some significant new toys and tactics to the Hell Let Loose formula. US forces can take to the skies in fully operational helicopters, providing fire support, reconnaissance and supply drops while also helping troops reach the battlefield.
The rivers aren’t simply scenery either. Patrol boats can be used to hunt down opposing forces across Vietnam’s waterways, opening up another front in battles that can already be sprawling affairs.
Then there are the tunnels. NVA players can construct tunnel networks to move forces through the battlefield and launch surprise attacks, creating an entirely different tactical problem for their opponents to deal with.
Movement has also been expanded, with swimming, climbing and fast crawling helping players navigate the more demanding environments. There’s even the ability to drag injured teammates away from active fire before attempting to get them back into the fight.
The Same Hell Let Loose Mentality
If you’ve played the original Hell Let Loose, you’ll know that this isn’t the sort of shooter where running around looking for a kill count is necessarily going to end well. The scale of the battlefield and importance of each role mean that an organised squad can achieve far more than a collection of lone wolves.
That was something we appreciated in our 4/5 review of Hell Let Loose, where we praised the original for making teamwork feel genuinely essential while throwing players into huge 50v50 battles.
The Vietnam setting should give that formula plenty of room to breathe. There are no traditional front lines in the same way, while the jungle, waterways, tunnels and aerial support create more ways for a battle to suddenly turn on its head.

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC, with the Standard Edition priced at £34.99. The £54.99 Deluxe Edition includes the base game alongside the 2026 Field Supplies, with additional cosmetic packs scheduled to arrive later in the year.
It isn’t on Game Pass at launch, so anyone wanting to join the 50v50 fight will need to purchase the game outright.
For those who enjoyed the scale, tension and teamwork of the original, this looks like a sizeable new chapter rather than a simple change of scenery. The jungle is waiting, the helicopters are ready and somewhere beneath your feet, the other side is probably digging a tunnel.
