Primal Fray
Primal Fray – on Xbox

Primal Fray, a brand-new turn-based strategy roguelite that promises endless tactical possibilities and challenging, procedurally generated combat has just landed on Xbox Series X|S.

This intense new title from Tymoteusz Pietruszka and Indie Games Starter is now available on Xbox Series X|S for £13.24.

Prepare to use your units to outmaneuver enemy troops across dangerous, hex-based flying islands, where you must improvise your team and strategy on the fly.

Improvise and Conquer

Primal Fray blends turn-based strategy with roguelite elements, forcing you to adapt your plans with every run.

The core progression loop relies on improvisation. After each combat, you receive a random reward that forces you to choose your next primal to join the roster. This means you are constantly building and adapting your team on the fly, working with what RNG gives you.

You’ll also choose your path through the Rift, making difficult choices between acquiring a new primal, getting an enchantment, a team heal, or visiting a merchant.

A Battleground That Bends to Your Will

The true strategic depth lies in the sheer variety of abilities and resource management required to survive.

Every unit has four different abilities in its arsenal, but they all hinge on the mana system. Abilities either cost or produce mana, forcing you to manage this resource carefully.

Primals can use these abilities to deal damage, shield allies, teleport, or even manipulate the battleground itself by creating or destroying hexes. This adds a layer of battlefield control that is unique to the genre.

Your journey through the procedurally generated Rift will lead you to multiple powerful bosses, each with their own unique mechanics. It won’t be easy, but by mastering the resource flow and building a perfect team synergy, you can outsmart them and conquer the Rift.

Your Rift Itinerary

Here’s what you can expect from this new strategy roguelite:

  • Turn-Based Strategy Roguelite: Combat takes place on procedurally generated, hex-based flying islands.
  • Build Your Team on the Fly: Improvise your roster after each combat based on rewards.
  • Battleground Manipulation: Units can create or destroy hexes to alter the field.
  • Mana Management: Abilities either cost or produce mana, forcing strategic planning.
  • Recruit New Heroes: Use unique talents to conquer the Rift and uncover the ominous Ironclad Corp.

The Rift is open, and a new generation of strategy awaits. If you’re a fan of challenging, turn-based roguelites that reward improvisation and deep tactical management, Primal Fray is ready for your command on the Xbox Store right now.
