When a devastating illness hits home, there is only one thing for it – get the very best to brew up a Potion Permit. And it just so happens that is what you’ll find yourself doing in the latest game to be announced by PQube.

Hot on the heels of the Kitaria Fables announcement, PQube have also come in to bat with Potion Permit. Due to arrive on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch alongside a PC via Steam launch, this is a game that is all about saving a devastated town from illness.

Moonbury is that town, and PQube and the development team at MassHive Media want you to visit it upon release. You see, you are thought of as the most potent chemist in the land and will be left to diagnose symptoms, gather ingredients, brew potions, and cure ailments in this open-ended sim RPG. When will that chance occur? How does 2021 suit?

Potion Permit tells the tale of how the town of Moonbury has always been wary of the advances of the outside world, preferring to rely on their traditional methods of healing. Until one day, when the Mayor’s daughter falls ill and the local Witch Doctor can do nothing to help her, they are forced to look outside their small community for help. From there, the Medical Association decides to send their most accomplished Chemist – you – to help cure the Mayor’s daughter, but also to convince the residents of Moonbury of the wonders of modern Alchemy!

How does that all play? Well, PQube have helpfully detailed the layout…

🤒 1. Receive Requests from Residents. 🤒 – The inhabitants of Moonbury will occasionally fall ill and call for you aid. Keep the town’s infrastructure in tact by curing them in a timely manner, so they can get back to their everyday lives!

🥼 2. Diagnose Symptoms to decide which Cure to craft. 🥼 – Hmm… a low heart rate and bloated liver. Dander Sneezer, perhaps? No, these are sure signs of Sticky Sweat. This patient has been consuming too much gelatin! Easily remedied, you’ll just need to craft some Jelly Remover.

🌿 3. Collect the right Ingredients… 🌿 – … by Gathering them and by hunting monsters. Search for the required ingredients in the surrounding environment – but watch out for changing weather conditions: Some areas are known to experience dense fog, droughts or even strong blizzards! Sometimes you will need to turn your trusty tools into weapons and collect them from monsters prowling the nearby wilderness. Combat in real-time and various concoctions to buff yourself or inflict status ailments on your adversaries!

⚗️ 4. Brew Remedies in your Cauldron. ⚗️ – The ingredients you gather can be mixed in your cauldron to brew medicine, vitamins and more. As you become more experienced, higher-level recipes will become available, requiring more ingredients and bestowing stronger effects.

🏘️ 5. Build Relationships and… 💜 – find Romance and upgrade your town. It’ll take a little while, but your patients will be much better thanks to your efforts and open up to you a little more. You may even find yourself growing particularly close to certain bachelors or bachelorettes, regardless of your own gender. As your approval with the townsfolk grows, you’ll be able to upgrade public buildings and expand the explorable areas around town. You may even be able to design your own home!

We’ll be sure to keep you updated as to Potion Permit’s progress in the weeks and months ahead. Hold tight for it hitting Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2021.
