The end of the year is fast approaching and that means we’re getting ever closer to a full release of For Honor. To prepare, Ubisoft will be running a Closed Beta – and have today detailed it.
With the full game due to release on 14th Feb 2017, to ensure the best possible experience, a Closed Beta will take place in January. Not only will it give gamers a taste of the action, but it’ll also help determine which faction reigns supreme.
The Closed Beta for For Honor will give you the chance to step onto the war torn lands of Ashfeld, Valkenheim and Myre with multiplayer experiences that focus on the age old war between the Vikings, Samurai and Knights.
At the same time, Ubisoft will launch the War of the Factions pre-launch limited time event, an event which asks one question…’When the mighty Vikings, Samurai and Knights finally collide on the same battlefield…who will reign supreme?’ The answer will be decided by tracking all multiplayer activity throughout the beta with rewards going off to all who participate.
But that’s not the only For Honor news today as Ubisoft have also detailed new Heavy heroes –Â the Samurai Shugoki and the Viking Warlord, and a new Assassin hero, the Knight Peacekeeper.
- Shugoki: Once the guardians of the Samurai, they have become as family. Massive and fierce, their weapon of choice is the kanabo, a huge stick that only they can wield efficiently. The Shugoki might not have the same agility as the other Samurai, but their rock-like resistance and demon-like strength make them an unavoidable force on the battlefield.
- Warlord: Warlord is a name from an ancient Viking tradition, a name that is earned by only the true leaders in combat, those who are ready to spend their whole life servicing all who need it. Warlords’ shields are as versatile as they are strong and their sword, while simple in design, is sharp and deadly.
- Peacekeeper: Selected from the desperate, the humbled or the devoted, they are sworn to secrecy by unbreakable oaths. Quick and lethal, they fight with a short sword in one hand and a dagger in the other. Peacekeepers are the deadliest duelists of all Assassins, capable of winning a fight before their enemy even knows they are here.
With the new Faction War metagame holding the the persistent cross-platform conflict between the Knights, Vikings and Samurai accountable, and plenty of War Assets to earn dependant on how well you perform, every single match in For Honor will make a difference.
