Hot Wheels fans won’t have to wait long for their next high-speed fix. Milestone and Mattel officially unveiled Hot Wheels Infinite Rush, a brand-new arcade racer that looks set to take the iconic toy cars far beyond the familiar orange tracks.
Launching on September 24th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush introduces a more expansive approach to racing, blending arcade action with open-world exploration, hundreds of vehicles and a host of creative tools designed to keep players busy long after the chequered flag falls.

Taking Hot Wheels Beyond The Orange Track
While previous games focused heavily on racing around elaborate toy tracks, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush appears to be expanding the formula considerably.
Players will be able to explore four large themed islands built to capture the oversized perspective that has always defined the Hot Wheels universe. Rather than simply moving from race to race, drivers can freely roam these environments, discover hidden collectibles, smash through obstacles and even launch between locations using dramatic sky-jumps.
It’s a noticeable shift for the franchise, offering a greater sense of freedom while retaining the fast-paced arcade racing that Hot Wheels fans have come to expect. And that means we’d expect Forza Horizon 6 to have a little competition…
More Than 150 Cars To Collect
Of course, no Hot Wheels game would be complete without an enormous garage of vehicles.
Infinite Rush launches with more than 150 cars spread across four different classes, each featuring unique handling characteristics and upgrade paths. Players will build their own Rush Squad as they unlock new rides throughout the game.
Alongside classic Hot Wheels originals, the roster will also feature vehicles from major automotive manufacturers, including Ferrari, giving players plenty of options when it comes to finding their perfect ride.
Multiplayer And Creativity Take Centre Stage
Milestone is clearly putting a major emphasis on community features this time around.
Online multiplayer will support full cross-play across platforms, while local split-screen allows up to four players to compete together from the same sofa. Competitive modes, leaderboards and asynchronous challenges are all planned as part of the package.
The track editor is also making a return with several notable upgrades. The enhanced builder introduces a new ground-snapping system that allows track pieces to connect directly to the environment itself, opening up new possibilities for course design.
Players can also place AI opponents onto their custom tracks using action markers, creating bespoke challenges that can then be shared across all supported platforms.
Building On Recent Hot Wheels Success
Hot Wheels has enjoyed a strong run in the gaming space over the last few years.
Most recently, we reviewed Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Ultimate Speed and Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged, with both delivering entertaining arcade racing experiences packed with the brand’s trademark energy and toybox charm.
Infinite Rush appears to be taking the next logical step by combining that familiar arcade gameplay with larger environments, deeper customisation options and greater freedom to explore.
A New Direction For Hot Wheels Racing
Milestone has already established itself as one of the strongest racing game developers around, and Hot Wheels Infinite Rush looks set to push the series into new territory.
With open-world exploration, over 150 vehicles, cross-platform multiplayer and a more advanced creation suite, this could be the most ambitious Hot Wheels game yet.
