How To Use Steam Keys

0

Steam is the iTunes for gamers. The brainchild of the Valve Corporation team, it emerged in 2003 and has been growing ever since. Not only does it host a vast collection of games for all tastes, but it also has social networking features, allowing users to communicate and share the experience.

To play on Steam, you need to obtain product keys. You can buy cheap Steam keys on https://gamerall.com/steam-games and save, or get them elsewhere. Once you have made your purchase, you can head over to your account on the platform and activate them. Here is how to do it.

Redeeming the Keys

First of all, you need a Steam account and the Steam game client. These are free. Remember that the software and any games accessed through it may be installed on several devices. All you need to do is log into your Steam account from them and download the required files.

There are two options to successfully redeem your available keys.

  • Through the Steam Redemption page.
  • To the Steam client directly.

Here is how the latter procedure works.

  1. Start by locating and copying your key.

The exact steps will depend on where you purchase it from. Select the numerical sequence and copy to your clipboard. Sometimes, the numerical sequence may extend beyond the field. Double-clicking inside the field will allow you to copy the entire key easily.

  1. Next, install the Steam client unless you have done it before.
  2. Launch the program and log in.
  3. At the bottom left, you will see a button + ADD A GAMEā€¦ Click on it.
  4. A window will pop up. It should contain the option Activate a Product on Steam. Activate it.
  5. The key may be registered in the new window opening.
  6. Paste the copied key or type the numerals manually into the relevant field.

If the product key is recognized as valid, you will now be redirected to the library. You can view the list of games you have already successfully registered in the system. To play anything, you need to install it. Once a game is selected, a splash page with the installation button pops up. As soon as the procedure is complete, you can see the Play button.

Troubleshooting

Sometimes, you may run into installation issues. If these occur, verify the integrity of the game cache. When activated, the tool performs a prompt check to identify files that are missing or have been installed incorrectly. To access the function, right-click on the title on the library tab and find the right button on the properties menu.

If problems persist, feel free to reach out to Steam Support after checking the Steam Knowledge Base. There are also numerous online forums where common issues are discussed and solved by players.
