Love it or loath it, the Battle Royale scene is here to stay – and that is why Ubisoft are getting in on the action with the launch of their super-fast, urban, free-to-play futuristic Hyper Scape on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Having kicked around for a little while in Beta form on PC, today is the day when Hyper Scape goes live for real, launching on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, for free, with its first season.

Season One of Hyper Scape is now available and with it you’ll discover a host of new opportunities that weren’t there with the beta. Of course, if you don’t play on PC, or just hate betas, you’ll know no difference anyways, but now Hyper Scape comes equipped with 11 different guns and 11 different hacks, with both the mid-range shooting Dragonfly and the new Magnet hack in place.

Further to that, and in addition to the Solo and Squad Crown Rush game modes, you should expect a plentiful amunt of limited time game modes dropping across the course of the season.

So what is Hyper Scape exactly? Well, it’s taking the much-loved, much-hated (delete as you feel appropriate) Battle Royale scene that has grown thanks to the likes of Fortnite, PUBG and Call of Duty Warzone, and injecting some of the Ubisoft magic into it. Running with an over-arcing narrative that has been created by Prisma Dimensions, you’ll be left to hun down Memory Shards in order to discover hidden secrets behind the characters and events within. There will be a new Memory Shard dropping into play each and every week, allowing backstory to grow, and Hyper Scape to deliver huge narrative.

Of course, it’s probably the actual gameplay that you’re most interested in and Hyper Scape promises to deliver a fresh new take on the genre. Fast paced, innovative and full of great new gameplay mechanics such as Hacks, the Fusion, the Decay, the Showdown and more, you’ll be found taking the fight to others, cross-platform over Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Our full review of Hyper Scape on Xbox One will be coming your way real soon, but for now get a download moving by visiting your favourite digital store – ours being that of the Xbox Store. It’s a free download, so what have you got to lose?

If you like what you find, then it may also be worth you considering a purchase of the Season One Starter Pack for £7.99. In it, you’ll discover all of the following…

  • Simon Protégé Champion
  • Cyber Saber Melee Weapon Design
  • Voltcraft Deployment Pod
  • Circuit Holo-Tag
  • Respect Emote
  • 1,000 Bitcrowns

There are also numerous other Bitcrown packs available too, running from 1000 Bitcrowns for £7.99, through 2875 for £19.99, 6250 for £39.99, or a cool 13500 for £79.99. You’ll want those to sort yourself out with the Season One Battle Pass too.

Game Description:

Hyper Scape is the one and only urban futuristic free-to-play battle royale where 100 contenders engage in first person close-quarters combat and fast-paced matches to become the next global superstar. Three decades in the future, life is idyllic … for the 1% that can afford it. For the rest of the 10 billion souls trapped in the crush of the megacities, day-to-day life is a grind. The one escape is into the Hyper Scape – an immersive online environment used for work, study, and play. The fastest way to rise to the top and change one’s lot in life is to compete in Crown Rush, an intense urban battle royale taking place at the heart of the Hyper Scape. Win at Crown Rush, and change your life!
