Echoes of the End – now on Xbox, PlayStation and PC

Are you ready for a journey through a world forged in fire and ice? Echoes of the End is coming!

Myrkur Games and Deep Silver have officially confirmed that their debut cinematic action-adventure, Echoes of the End, will launch later this summer in 2025.

The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

A Journey Forged in Iceland

Developed in Reykjavík, Echoes of the End is a story deeply rooted in its Icelandic origins. The world of Aema is a fragmented land shaped by war and elemental magic, with landscapes directly inspired by Iceland’s raw beauty – from molten lava fields to sunken cities beneath glacial cliffs.

The story follows Ryn, a powerful “vestige” born with volatile magical abilities, who sets out to rescue her brother from a brutal empire teetering on the brink of war. She is joined by Abram Finlay, a haunted scholar, and together they must uncover a conspiracy that could reignite an ancient conflict and plunge their world into chaos.

Driven by themes of trust, sacrifice, and redemption, the narrative unfolds across ten hand-crafted chapters.

When Magic Meets Steel

The gameplay in Echoes of the End is a dynamic fusion of fast-paced combat and clever puzzle-solving.

  • Tactical Combat: The “magic meets steel” combat system blends visceral swordplay with devastating magical powers. Players will need strategy and skill to take on both human and monstrous foes in epic boss battles.
  • Environmental Puzzles: Ryn’s powerful abilities aren’t just for fighting. You will need to manipulate gravity, cast illusions, and reshape the world around you to overcome environmental obstacles and solve complex puzzles.
  • Companion Gameplay: Abram is more than just a follower; he is integral to your journey. You will need to work closely with him to fight, explore, and solve puzzles, and your growing connection will shape both the gameplay and the story itself.

The Art of Aema: A Cinematic Powerhouse

Myrkur Games is leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 5 and full performance motion capture to bring its world and characters to life. The narrative is further enhanced by a stellar cast, featuring the voices of Aldís Amah Hamilton as Ryn and Karl Ágúst Úlfsson as Abram.

Reinforcing its distinct Icelandic identity, the game features an emotionally rich, original soundtrack from composer Viktor Ingi Guðmundsson, which blends sweeping cinematic soundscapes with traditional Icelandic influences.

As a stunning debut from Myrkur Games, Echoes of the End is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of cinematic, story-driven adventures. You can wishlist the game now on Steam and console storefronts and prepare for an epic journey when it arrives on Xbox this summer.

A breathtaking new trailer has been released alongside the announcement, giving players their first in-depth look at the game’s stunning world, powerful magic, and emotional, character-driven narrative.
