In Trusted Hands – Should You Really Be Looking Through Those Phones?

In Trusted Hands – out now on PC and console

In Trusted Hands immediately feels uncomfortable. Launching on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for ÂŁ8.39, alongside releases on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, In Trusted Hands takes the cosy repair-shop simulator formula and twists it into something far more personal. Because whilst fixing phones is one thing. Discovering the secrets hidden inside them is another entirely.

Developed by HGISoft and published by Games Harbor, this is a game built around difficult choices, moral grey areas and the temptation to peek at things you probably shouldn’t.

More Than Just A Repair Shop Sim

On the surface, In Trusted Hands looks fairly straightforward.

You run a struggling phone repair shop, swapping out components, fixing damaged devices and trying to stay afloat while dealing with rent, inspections, stress and exhaustion. The actual repair process is intentionally simple too, keeping the focus firmly on the people walking through your door. And that’s where things start to get messy.

As you work on customer devices, messages, photos and hidden files begin appearing. Suddenly, you’re not just repairing phones – you’re uncovering affairs, secrets, lies and private moments that were never meant for your eyes.

Every Choice Comes With Consequences

But what do you do with the information you uncover? Do you stay professional and keep everything private? Do you help someone being manipulated? Or do you sell information to strangers offering cash in exchange for sensitive details?

The game promises branching consequences depending on how you handle each situation, with relationships, investigations and even romance opportunities all tied into your decisions.

There’s also a personal balancing act happening in the background, as your character’s fatigue and stress levels directly affect how well you perform and react under pressure. It all sounds surprisingly tense for what initially appears to be a cosy little simulator.

If you fancy a narrative experience built around difficult choices and uncomfortable discoveries, In Trusted Hands is available now through the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on the storefronts for PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam).

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
