Yeah, we’ve been casting jealous eyes the way of PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch players for a while now, but finally the critically acclaimed Inscryption is available on Xbox.

Having previously released on Steam for PC (you’re looking at tens of thousands of Overwhelmingly Positive reviews over there), PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, Devolver Digital’s Inscryption now lands on Xbox, bringing an uber cool card-based odyssey to a whole new range of players.

It’s priced at ÂŁ16.74, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S – with full new-gen optimisation in house – as Xbox owners get the chance to take in a mind-melting, self-destructing love letter to the gaming industry.

Playing out through a combination of deckbuilding, roguelike, escape room, puzzle and psychological horror elements, Inscryption will see you attempting to work with a deck of cards, all adorned by some glorious little woodland creatures. But don’t expect this to be a cute and cuddly affair, as the journey you will go on promises to be nothing but deeply disturbing, deathly dark.

Should you have played Inscryption elsewhere, you’ll know what you are getting yourself into with the Xbox launch, but otherwise, come in green to this weird world and you should expect to find yourself deep in trouble. Trouble is a good thing though – especially here.

We’re dipping ours toes in as we speak and will be sure to provide a full review of Inscryption on Xbox in the coming days. Keep an eye out for that as it’s sure to let you know whether a trip to the Xbox Store for an Inscryption download will be worth your time. Remember, you can grab this on other formats too.

Game Description:

From the creator of Pony Island and The Hex comes the latest mind-melting, self-destructing love letter to video games. Inscryption is an inky black card-based odyssey that blends the deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horror into a blood-laced smoothie. Darker still are the secrets inscrybed upon the cards… In Inscryption you will… Acquire a deck of woodland creature cards by draft, surgery, and self-mutilation. Unlock the secrets lurking behind the walls of Leshy’s cabin. Embark on an unexpected and deeply disturbing odyssey.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
