Those with a love for dinosaurs are well catered for in the gaming market. There’s the stunning Jurassic World Evolution which lets you build your very own Jurassic Park. Then there’s the recently released Second Extinction which tasks you and some mates with surviving in a mutated landscape. And then in 2022, Dinos Reborn will launch, as will the successor to the iconic Dino Crisis, Instinction. But if you’re still holding out for some dino-fuelled gaming experiences, the launch of Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunt may well scratch an itch. Are you ready to join the hunt?
Coinciding with International Dinosaur Day, and available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunt is, at its core, a shooter. That’s pretty obvious really, and what is even more obvious is that this is a shooter in which dinosaurs are very much front and centre.
Priced at £12.49, Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunt comes from the Digital Dreams Entertainment team – they previously behind Mutant Football League – will whisk gamers off to the most prehistoric of planets as they become a hardened dinosaur hunter. From there, tracking, tracing, stalking and surviving will all be at the fore of the action as you go up against dinosaurs which will happily squish you without a care in the world.Â
But you’re a proper hunter, and much like in the brilliant theHunter: Call of the Wild – albeit with slightly different prey – you’ll find yourself familiarising yourself with each animal’s temperament and mannerisms, before taking them down.Â
Of course, it’s the dinos which are the stars and expect to see the T-Rex,w the Creatosaurus, Triceratops and more all present and correct. With each reacting to sight, sound and smell, and complete with their own unique characteristics, this hunting adventure is sure to be a dangerous one.
It should be a beautiful one too though, with many environs and ecosystems to take in. Thankfully you’ll be fully equipped with the finest weaponry too – high-calibre rifles, snipers, crossbows and even the chance to cover your scene and use a Mobile Interstellar Satellite Transponder, will be in amongst your gear.
Key features include:
- Hunt down planet FMM UV-32’s most dangerous creatures – the Dinosaurs!
- A multitude of different Dinosaurs, from Herbivores (plant eaters) to the Carnivores (meat eaters).
- Realistic AI – Dinosaurs react to sight, sound, and smell – with differing reactions and characteristics.
