A Case That Refuses To Stay Buried
GHOST at DAWN is built around the sort of detective story that starts with a simple missing-person case and gets steadily stranger from there.
As Ben O’Hara, you will work through the rooms of an abandoned hotel, searching for evidence and piecing together the story behind the girl’s disappearance. It is a room-by-room investigation, but this is not a quiet stroll through dusty corridors. The hotel is home to the living dead, and they are more than happy to interrupt your detective work.
That means gathering clues and working out what happened, while also making sure you have enough ammunition to deal with anything that comes shambling out of the dark.
Detective Noir Meets Survival Horror
The pitch is a strong one: classic private-eye noir mixed with survival horror. There is a missing girl at the centre of it all, a 1940s setting, an isolated hotel and a detective who has to rely on both his instincts and his firearm.
Blue and Red Games describes GHOST at DAWN as a detective noir nightmare, and that feels like the right way to approach it. Investigation is central to the experience, but there is a real threat behind every closed door.
