Superhero games often promise power. Invincible VS delivers impact.
Now available on Xbox Series X|S and PC (with Play Anywhere support), this brutal 3v3 tag fighter drops players straight into the blood-soaked chaos of the Invincible universe.
Published by Skybound Games and developed by Quarter Up, this isn’t a polished, family-friendly take on comic book heroes. It’s a full-force, no-holds-barred brawler that leans hard into the series’ signature brutality.
And after previously teasing its arrival, as covered in our earlier release window news, Invincible VS has now finally stepped into the ring.

A Fighter That Hits Different
From the first punch, Invincible VS makes its intentions clear. This is a fighting game where every hit matters, and every combo feels like it could shatter bone.
Built around 3v3 tag-team mechanics, battles are fast, fluid and relentlessly aggressive. You’ll swap between fighters mid-match, chain devastating combos and unleash supers that leave the screen drenched in destruction. It’s not just about offence either. Smart defensive play, well-timed counters and team synergy all play a part in surviving long enough to finish the fight.
More Than Just Versus
While the core combat is front and centre, Invincible VS brings a decent spread of modes to the table.
There’s a cinematic story mode featuring an original narrative penned by a writer from the animated series, alongside Arcade, Training and both casual and competitive multiplayer options. Whether you’re learning the ropes or stepping into online battles, there’s a clear effort to cater to both newcomers and fighting game veterans alike.
Built By Fighting Game Veterans
However, for us, one of the more interesting hooks behind Invincible VS is the team behind it.
Quarter Up is a new studio, but it’s staffed by developers who previously worked on Killer Instinct – a game that is widely regarded as one of the strongest modern fighters. That influence shows in the responsiveness, combo potential and overall feel of the combat system.
DLC And Post-Launch Content
Invincible VS isn’t pulling its punches when it comes to post-launch content either.
The Deluxe Edition includes the Year 1 Character Pass (also available separately for ÂŁ16.99), while a selection of additional DLC packs are already available:
- Battle Beast – Invincible Universe Skin (£8.39)
- Conquest – Breakout Skin (£8.39)
- Allen the Alien – C.O.P. Skin (£4.49)
- Double Dimensions – Skin Bundle (£8.39)
- Ella Mental – Diamond Skin (£8.39)
There’s also the £14.99 Digital Deluxe Upgrade for those looking to step up from the Standard Edition later down the line.
Superheroes Without The Safety Net
Invincible VS doesn’t try to soften its edges. It embraces the chaos, the violence and the sheer force of its source material, delivering a fighter that feels raw, fast and unapologetically intense.
For fans of the series, it’s a chance to step into the arena with familiar faces. For fighting game players, it’s another contender entering the ring with some serious pedigree behind it. Just don’t expect anyone to walk away clean.
