Iron Wings brings flight enthusiasts some air combat on Xbox One

-

Are you after some intense World War 2 dog-fighting action? Want to take to the skies in an action orientated flying experience that looks to offer its players a rich campaign of missions? Well then, Iron Wings may be just what you have been looking for.

Iron Wings sticks players in control of pilots Jack and Amelia, as they attempt to take down the Nazi aerial menace as well as a secret team of archaeologists and scientists under the command of General Adler. Multiple missions, each with numerous objectives and enemies will be heading your way, throwing in plenty of side objectives to keep players engaged in the battle. With a heavy focus on fast paced combat and the importance of strategy playing a critical part in mission success, it will take careful planning to come out on top.

Gameplay will see both pilots come under your control, with players able to switch between planes and pilots at anytime; even allowing assignment of orders to the uncontrolled plane, with each carrying a different abundance of tools to help with the mission.

Extra tools come in the form of Chaffs and a Magnetron to counter enemy radar, as well as a camera to report detailed visuals of certain objectives (this is World War 2 after all). A Search Light should help you discover those hidden targets during night scenarios.

If that sounds like something you want to be jumping into then why not head on over to the Xbox Games Store right now and grab yourself a copy for £19.19. Iron Wings is available now on Xbox One. You should also be able to get it on PlayStation 4 and PC.

Game Description:

World War 2 Intense action-adventure air combat game Player takes on the role of the two pilots, Jack and Amelia, as they attempt to take down Nazi aerial menace across a rich campaign of missions, each with numerous objectives and enemies as well as side objectives. While fast paced action goes you will also have to consider some strategy, assigning your partner primary objectives to shoot down, in order to succeed. Iron Wings is primarily and arcade game, a flying shooter, where shooting won’t be enough, where each weapon or tool mounted on each of the two planes will have its role on completing each mission, and you’ll have to deal with the decision on what to do and how to do it. During flight, you will control both pilots and their plane, switching between them anytime you need, and assigning orders to the other one. Each of the two planes you will pick will carry different extra tools to be used during the mission. Extra tools as Chaffs and Magnetron as radar countermeasures, Photo Camera to report detailed visuals of some objectives, Search Light to discover and focus targets on night scenarios and more to discover. Wise choice of camouflages will also influence your visibility to enemies, and consequentially will help you avoid some damages. Iron Wings follows the story of two childhood friends who join the war in a special air force squadron. Under the guidance of Colonel David Ruse, their objective is to locate and stop the general Adler ahead of the ‘Ahnenerbe’, a secret team of Nazi archaeologists and scientists. Game starts during a fund raising in NY and rapidly moving into war operations with the Operation Husky (the invasion of Sicily) following the real events in the search for Adler. Pilots will face aerial and ground missions from NY, rebuilt in deep detail as in the ‘40s, and other USA locations as Black Canyon, to many of the real battlefields along Europe, from Sicily to Naples passing through Poland and Germany.
