TMNT Tactical Takedown
TMNT Tactical Takedown – out now on Xbox and Nintendo Switch

Everyone’s favourite band of adolescent mutated shinobi reptiles are back (seriously, try and name another), with the arrival of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown on consoles.

This is the first foray into the turn-based arena for the famous green gang, inspired by the classic cartoon. It’s time to slice up enemies, take down the Foot Clan, and make it home in time for pizza!

Turned On Its Head

Now available on Xbox and Nintendo Switch, following a few months of PC-exclusivity, TMNT: Tactical Takedown comes in a bit of a purple patch for Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello.

Not only did 2022’s TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge dominate game of the year lists, but the colourful Wrath of the Mutants, intricate Splintered Fate, and of course the recent movie, were all decent-to-good installments in the franchise.

Now, it’s time to take things turn-based, as TMNT: Tactical Takedown features a battle against the evil Foot Clan that has been heavily inspired by the cartoon.

With Splinter and Shredder long gone, the Turtles are having to navigate the next stage of their life without a mentor (or a nemesis). In fact, as the Turtles reach adulthood, a lot of their time in Tactical Takedown will be spent apart, with the game featuring campaigns that show off each Turtle individually.

Slice ‘N Dice

Featuring 20 levels that constantly change throughout their course, your goal in Tactical Takedown is to, well, tactically takedown each of the enemies that are littered across the grid-based level that lies before you.

Each Turtle has many customisable abilities that can be deployed against your foes, each of which is best suited to different situations. Of course, the goal is to defeat all of the enemies whilst defending yourself against oncoming attacks.

As is the case with all turn-based affairs, a keen eye for what each enemy can do, and how to position yourself to avoid their attacks, is key.

All of this is wrapped up in an original TMNT tale from developers Strange Scaffold, who have been trusted to develop the latest in a long line of captivating TMNT titles. Only time will tell if they have if they have succeeded! Our review is on the way.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown Description

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown is the first-ever turn-based TMNT video game. Inspired by the classic cartoon, you’ll experience a bold new approach to the world of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Splinter and Shredder are dead, and as the Turtles approach adulthood, they’re not just growing up… they’re growing apart.
