Mixing a ton of comedy with the brutality of a Souls-Like, The Last Hero of Nostalgaia plays out on Xbox and PC.

Available today for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, The Last Hero of Nostalgaia from Coatsink and Over the Moon is a Souls-Like experience which has been hit by a host of comedic moments, all as you endure the words of a cynical narrator.

Priced at £19.99, The Last Hero of Nostalgaia will provide you with the opportunity to take in a new dark story, one that is constantly ripped apart in a satirical nature by the one who narrates it, helping immerse you into the depths of the complex world it holds.

But this is a Souls-like so that humour will fast be found going up against the usual brutal nature that we’ve come to know and love/hate *delete as you feel. You’ll need to fight though, if only as this world is reliant on you and your ‘The Last Hero of Nostalgaia’ tag. Expect to take in a host of player customisation as you battle your way through. There will be bosses too – as well as a rather glorious artstyle that emerges as you play.

Our full review of The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is live and we think it’s one you should be playing. No spoilers, go and read our review and let us know what you think.

If you’re sold on it, you’ll find The Last Hero of Nostalgaia available from the Xbox Store today for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on PC.

Game Description:

The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is a satirical action-adventure, driven by a dark story, set in an incredibly rich and complex world. Nostalgaia, the world of videogames, is collapsing backwards into a mysterious pixelation, with every particle of fidelity bleeding away. Oblivion seemingly awaits even our most cherished gaming memories. But as the lighting dims and frames diminish, with the world on the brink of extinction, hope emerges to fight back. As the most hideous pixelated hero to ever spawn in Nostalgaia, you must fight through an army of its mindless inhabitants, while being jeered by a cynical narrator who despises your very existence. Featuring hard but fair combat that fans of the genre will relish, along with *full character customization, unique battle armor and engaging narrative mechanics rich in lore, The Last Hero of Nostalgaia’s twisted and wicked tale is prepared to send you headfirst into almost certain death around its every vertex.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
