Join the Party Animals with two new Xbox games for free

Xbox Games With Gold is back, offering up a couple more free games to the Xbox playing masses. These two are pretty good too – allowing you the chance to join the Party Animals. 

For us it’s the free giveaway of the brilliant Yoku’s Island Express which is the highlight of the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for May 2022, but right behind it come a couple of other titles – both of which are now free to download. 

Those games are, in no particular order, the hugely fun Viva Pinata: Party Animals and The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk. 

Taking Party Animals first and whilst we’d prefer it to be the original Viva Pinata game that was stripped of its price tag for the next couple of weeks, we’ll take this one. Normally priced at £8.99, it whisks us off to the land of the colourful Pinata, as we get the chance to become a proper old party animal. 

A host of minigames will be thrust our way in Party Animals, as Viva Pinata does away with the sandbox styled gameplay that originally made things such a hit. From there, all out fun ensues, as you work your way through the forty-odd events on offer, proving yourself as a champion party animal. 

You’ll find a download of Party Animals available from the Xbox Store, with a zero price attached until the end of May. Just make sure you download the native Xbox 360 game. 

Alongside that is The Inner World – The Last Wind Monk. A much newer game (this released in 2017 on Xbox One), The Last Wind Monk takes what was good about The Inner World and runs with it, progressing the story and giving players the chance to join a group of unlikely heroes. 

Point-and-clickers rarely get old and this is certainly an enjoyable playthrough. In fact, whilst we were somewhat shocked by the asking price in our review (something you don’t need to worry about as you take it home via GWG), should you have been a fan of the original outing, then getting involved in The Last Wind Monk is a no-brainer. 

Pick it up from the Xbox Store. Flashing your Xbox Live Gold sub at the door will see you able to download this one for free until the middle of June. 

With new Xbox Games With Gold titles on the scene, it does mean we must say goodbye to a couple of older games. Whilst Yoku’s Island Express is still free, those previous GWG goodies of Hydro Thunder Hurricane and – going back further to April 2022’s freebies – the colour changing Hue will both now be going back up in price.
