Jurassic World Evolution 3 Prehistoric East – out now!

There’s more to building a memorable dinosaur park than simply finding room for another enormous carnivore. Jurassic World Evolution 3: Prehistoric East gives park managers the chance to create something altogether more distinctive, combining five prehistoric species with an extensive collection of East Asian-inspired scenery, elaborate decorations and animated dinosaur holograms.

Available now for ÂŁ11.99, the expansion arrives on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Whether you’re looking to introduce some remarkable new animals or completely transform the look of your park, there’s plenty here to get those creative instincts firing.

Five New Dinosaurs To Welcome Into Your Park

The headline attraction is a collection of five prehistoric species, offering a mixture of gentle herbivores, smaller predators and imposing carnivores.

The Nanshiungosaurus is a particularly striking addition, with colourful plumage, a long neck and a distinctive feathered appearance. This gentle therizinosaur offers something a little different from the more familiar dinosaur silhouettes, while the Gobisaurus brings a much more heavily armoured look to the park. Despite its formidable build, this ankylosaur is a peaceful herbivore and a natural fit for dinosaur encounters.

For those who prefer their exhibits with a little more bite, the Yangchuanosaurus is a powerful Jurassic predator with imposing jaws and distinctive tusk-like teeth. Its striking patterns and colour variations should help it stand out among the park’s more dangerous residents.

The Sinosauropteryx takes a different approach. Small, fluffy and curious, this carnivore may look harmless at first glance, but guests will still need to admire it from a safe distance.

Finally, the Tarbosaurus arrives as a full family unit. A formidable relative of Tyrannosaurus rex, it can grow to around 10 metres in length and weigh five tonnes, making it a substantial addition that demands a properly planned enclosure and reliable security.

Give Your Park An East Asian Makeover

Prehistoric East isn’t just about the animals. The expansion also introduces more than 230 scenery pieces, giving players the tools to create parks inspired by East Asian architecture and landscapes.

Bronze dragon statues, marble guardian lions, colourful paper lanterns and glowing lotus flowers provide plenty of decorative options. New walls, roofs, trims and natural scenery elements add further flexibility, while 15 ready-made blueprints featuring pagodas, gates and walled gardens offer a shortcut to creating a more cohesive look.

There’s more though and one of the more unusual additions is a collection of animated holographic dinosaur statues. These decorative pieces can be placed individually or incorporated into custom blueprints, with each statue offering a selection of dinosaur animations. It’s a fun way to bring a little extra spectacle to guest areas without needing to introduce another living animal to the park.

A Free Update Adds More Ways To Build

Prehistoric East launches alongside Update 1.5.0, which is available free to all Jurassic World Evolution 3 players.

The update introduces the Walkway attraction, allowing players to create raised paths through aviaries and over land and lagoon enclosures. It also brings the Carcharodontosaurus back as a full family unit and adds new weather settings for Sandbox mode.

That means there’s more to explore beyond the paid expansion itself, particularly for players who enjoy experimenting with park layouts and creating unusual guest experiences.

Time To Build Something Extraordinary

We awarded Jurassic World Evolution 3 a 4.5/5 in our review, praising its satisfying park-building systems and the creative freedom offered by its customisable blueprints. As we said at the time, “The creativity that the game allows makes it an incredibly addictive experience that you are bound to keep coming back to.”

Prehistoric East looks set to give that creativity another outlet, pairing five distinctive dinosaurs with a sizeable collection of scenery and decorative tools. The free update adds further attractions for existing players, making this a substantial new addition for anyone keen to keep developing their prehistoric paradise.

Jurassic World Evolution 3: Prehistoric East is available now for ÂŁ11.99 on Xbox Series X|S (through the Xbox Store), PlayStation 5 and PC.
