Novel Rogue
Novel Rogue – out now on Xbox, PlayStation and PC

Every book holds a new world, but in the case of Novel Rogue, that’s literally true!

This new card deck-building roguelite from developer Exe Create and the ever-prolific RPG publisher KEMCO has launched.

This enchanting pixel art adventure is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 for £16.74.

Welcome to the Mystical Ancient Library

Prepare to dive into four unique stories, each with its own world, characters, and distinct deck-building system, all while enjoying Xbox Play Anywhere support.

In Novel Rogue, you play as a young apprentice named Wright, training under the watchful eye of Yuisil, the Witch of Portals. As part of your magical studies, you must delve into the stories of four enchanted books, each offering a unique realm to explore.

From reclaiming a fallen kingdom to unraveling the mysteries of the underworld, your choices will shape the destinies of captivating characters and their intertwining tales.

Four Books, Four Distinct Battle Systems

This is where Novel Rogue truly sets itself apart. Your adventure will take you into the stories of four unique books, and each one features its own tailored card-battling and deck-building system. You won’t just be using one strategy; you’ll need to adapt to the rules of each new world you enter, from a medieval princess knight’s tale to an ascension into the celestial world.

Within each book, you’ll engage in thrilling, turn-based card battles in randomised dungeons, where every decision counts.

As you overcome enemies and escalating challenges, you’ll collect powerful new cards and use a special resource called “Ink” to enhance your deck. Each run is a fresh test of your skills, and your choices within the story can lead to special endings for each book.

Another Tale from the KEMCO Library

Publisher KEMCO continues its relentless charge on the Xbox platform, bringing a huge variety of RPGs and narrative adventures to players.

This new deck-building roguelite joins other recent KEMCO releases like the monster-taming RPG Covenant of Solitude and the bizarrely brilliant underworld call center sim 1f y0u’re a gh0st ca11 me here!, showcasing their impressive genre diversity.

Seamless Storytelling with Xbox Play Anywhere

Adding fantastic value for players in the Microsoft ecosystem, Novel Rogue supports Xbox Play Anywhere. Purchase the game digitally once via the Xbox Store, and you automatically own it on both your Xbox console (One or Series X|S) and your Windows PC. Your progress and achievements will sync seamlessly between platforms!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
