Cinderscratch
Cinderscratch – now on Xbox and PC

The fate of a doomed land rests on the paws of one lone cat warrior in Cinderscratch!

Cinderscratch is a simplistic yet challenging 2D platformer with Metroidvania elements and a striking retro graphics style. Available now, thanks to those at Synnergy Circle Games, this dark fantasy adventure is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC, with prices starting at just ÂŁ4.99.

In Cinderscratch, you play as Ashpaw, the last of the Flamekeepers. A creeping corruption is consuming the land, turning everything it touches into undead abominations. Once vibrant cities and forests now echo with the moans of the cursed.

Your quest: journey to the heart of this blighted realm, the fallen city of Cinderscratch, and rekindle the ancient sacred bonfires to dispel the darkness.

A Land Consumed by Corruption, A City in Ruins

Cinderscratch was once a beacon of hope, a city that discovered a way to end the corruption for good. But before they could enact the salvation ritual, the city itself was swallowed by rot and death.

Now, Ashpaw, bearing the last ember of the Sacred Flame, must venture into its abandoned castle and treacherous surroundings. Each bonfire reawakened brings hope, and only when all are alight can the curse be broken and the world spared.

Flames, Fangs, and Formidable Foes

Cinderscratch blends classic 2D platforming with Metroidvania-style exploration, sending Ashpaw deep into the cursed castle of Cinderscratch. Your primary goal is to venture through its infested halls and dangerous surrounding areas, actively seeking out the sacred bonfires that hold the key to dispelling the land’s corruption.

This won’t be a quiet stroll, however, as the castle is teeming with undead creatures and other grotesque monsters determined to block your path. To truly progress your exploration and reach new bonfires, you’ll need to prove your mettle and face formidable elite bosses – powerful adversaries far stronger than the regular enemies you’ll encounter, each guarding the way forward.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
