Kingdom Rush Origins is on Xbox

Tower defence games are as old as time itself, so it is perhaps fitting that Kingdom Rush Origins puts this genre firmly within the medieval era. Following the likes of Kingdom Rush and Kingdom Rush Frontiers, Kingdom Rush Origins offers up even more of that tower defence goodness on our consoles.

Following prior launches on PC and Switch in recent years, it is now the turn of our beloved Xbox consoles to receive the third in this award-winning saga. Story-wise, Origins takes place well before the events of its two predecessors, telling the tale of an elven army defending against all manner of fantasy creatures – serpents, sorcerers and more.

Whilst Origins retains the cutesy, somewhat dated art-style of yester-decade, the suite of unique features that the game offers has certainly impressed Steam users, enough to give the game an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ score from thousands of reviews. You will be in command of a variety of armed units, such as marksmen, wizards, and even huge bears, and the wealth of towers that you can erect, all in an attempt to halt oncoming enemy forces, is immensely diverse.

Add this onto the array of upgrades that you can unlock for each tower, the fact that there are legendary heroes to wield and use the unique power of, and epic bosses to take down, and we can see ourselves enjoying Kingdom Rush Origins for hours and hours.

There are an impressive amount of key features for Kingdom Rush Origins, including:

  • Take up arms against 30 new enemy types and engage in epic boss battles. Face hordes of Gnolls, Giant Spiders, and the terrible Twilight Army.
  • Master and upgrade 16 legendary heroes and their awesome powers and spells.
  • Enjoy hours of gameplay with over 80 achievements, with three difficulty modes for newbies and veterans alike.
  • Play different game modes – Classic, Iron, and Heroic
  • Study enemies and towers with an in-game encyclopedia.

Whether you are a Kingdom Rush veteran with years of service, a tower defence aficionado yet to try out the series, or a newcomer altogether, Kingdom Rush Origins looks set to have what you need to enjoy a great time. The game is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Switch. Over on the Xbox Store, you can pick up a copy today for £12.49.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
