World of Tanks KISS
World of Tanks KISS – now live!

The stage is set, the pyrotechnics are primed, and the loudest event in tank warfare history is about to begin.

Metal Fest roars into World of Tanks Modern Armor, and this year, the undisputed headliners are the legendary rock icons, KISS!

This electrifying, free in-game event runs through September 15th and brings the unmistakable sound and rebellious spirit of the band to the free-to-play tank shooter on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

Rock and Roll All Nite (and Fight)

This huge collaboration is packed with exclusive KISS-inspired rewards, unique new Premium tanks, a brand-new PvE mode, and daily gifts for all players.

The heart of the Metal Fest is a collection of four one-of-a-kind Premium tanks, each inspired by a classic KISS character and bringing their pure, unadulterated energy to the battlefield.

  • The Demon: Wields a hellish flamethrower to torch your enemies.
  • The Starchild: Unloads fast and furious damage with a three-round autoloader.
  • The Spaceman: Blasts in with powerful rocket boosters to “fly” across the battlefield.
  • The Catman: Features guns that scratch and claw through enemies with lightning speed.

As a perfect encore, each of these KISS Premium tanks will blast the iconic anthem “Rock and Roll All Nite” whenever you select it in your garage.

Metal Fest in World of Tanks Modern Armor is pure rock ’n’ roll mayhem,” said Gene Simmons, founding member of KISS. “We’re bringing fire, power, and pure adrenaline. When KISS shows up, you know it’s going to be epic.

The collaboration goes far beyond just the tanks. All four KISS personas have been brought to life as fully animated 3D Hero Commanders, complete with custom voiceovers. Gene Simmons himself powers The Demon, while Paul Stanley brings The Starchild to life.

A Word from the Art Director

The designs for these new Commanders were a true collaboration. As Andy Dorizas, Art Director for World of Tanks Modern Armor, explains, “All the designs for the Commanders were a group effort with a lot of input from KISS. It was my idea to give The Demon wings—something over the top that captured Gene’s persona while nodding to his iconic style. KISS pushed us to fully embrace the fantastical elements of each character. This is KISS reimagined for commanding tanks, each with a look unlike anything seen before.

Rush the Stage and Rock ‘n’ Rewards

For the first time in its three-year history, Metal Fest is introducing a brand-new game mode.

Rush the Stage is a new PvE mode on a map designed especially for this event. You will charge into battle with the objective of capturing three bases and destroying enemy tanks to earn points. The mode will run for two weeks, featuring World War II tanks in the first week and Cold War tanks in the second.

On top of the new mode, players can also enjoy the 14 days of the Rock ‘n’ Rewards campaign, logging in daily for a free gift from KISS. There will also be a dedicated Personal Challenge for solo players, offering a variety of exclusive KISS-branded rewards and discounts.

A Perfect Warm-Up Act?

This high-energy, hero-focused Metal Fest event serves as the perfect thematic warm-up for what’s next from Wargaming. The recently announced World of Tanks: HEAT is a brand-new, standalone free-to-play title that also features hero-enhanced tanks and a faster, more explosive pace. This KISS collaboration feels like a brilliant taste of the kind of over-the-top, personality-driven tank combat that Wargaming is embracing for the future.

The tour bus has arrived, and the battlefield is ready for the show. This massive, free crossover event is a spectacular fusion of hard rock and heavy metal that you won’t want to miss. The Metal Fest is live now.

You’ll obviously need World of Tanks in your digital library. Grab an Xbox version, for free, from the Xbox Store.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
