Having recently released on PC via Steam, picking up some Very Positive reviews in the few days since launch, Neon Doctrine’s Lamentum now arrives on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch. If you’re looking for a Resi Evil or Silent Hill inspired pixel-arted survival horror, this is it.
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and Nintendo Switch – as well as that PC drop – Lamentum sees you attempting to help Victor Hartwell complete a journey which will ultimately save his wife. You see, a deadly disease has hit her, with the only hopes of finding a cure hiding away in the halls of Grau Hill Mansion. The thing is, this place is a bit of a house of nightmares.
The journey you will find yourself taking on with Hartwell is one that has been inspired by the survival horror classics – the likes of Resident Evil and Silent Hill having been the influence behind what Neon Doctrine and Obscure Tales have managed to create. This one though deals with the scene in a slightly different way, working some old-school pixel art to pretty good measure.
But it’s probably the narrative, tale and lore behind what Lamentum is able to produce which is the most interesting aspect, with decision making utterly key to how the story progresses.
