The justice of the Imperium arrives in the hive city of Tertium, bringing with it a loyal cyber-hound and a host of devastating new weaponry.
Fatshark has unleashed a massive content drop for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on Game Pass, featuring the game’s first paid class DLC, the Arbites, alongside the huge, game-changing, and completely free Battle for Tertium update for all players.
This wave of new content is available right now for all Rejects on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
You Are the Law: The Arbites Class DLC
For the first time, players can purchase a new class to bring righteous fury to the heretic masses. The Arbites are the enforcers of the Lex Imperialis, and as an Arbitrator, you are their unforgiving instrument.
- The Cyber-Mastiff Companion – The most iconic feature of the Arbites is their cybernetically-engineered hound, the R-VR. This loyal companion can be cosmetically customised and named before joining you in the fray. It will passively engage nearby threats but can also be commanded (by double-tapping your Tag input) to take down priority targets. For those who prefer to walk the path of justice alone, the Lone Wolf talent removes the Mastiff in exchange for powerful personal stat boosts.
- A Versatile Talent Tree – The Arbitrator’s talent tree is a sprawling map of righteous fury, allowing for deep customisation. Key paths focus on Elite killing & Cyber-Mastiff handling; Hybrid Combat & Supportive Utility; and pure Crowd Control & Melee prowess. Players can mix and match from over 80 talent nodes to craft their perfect enforcer.
- New Abilities & Weaponry – The Arbitrator brings new technology and iconic wargear to the battlefield. Deploy the Nuncio-Aquila to create a toughness-regenerating field for allies, enter the Castigator’s Stance for a powerful self-buff, or smash through enemy lines with the Break the Line bash. Wield the new Assault Shield in combination with either the Dominator Maul or Arbites Shotpistol – Darktide’s first true defense/range combo. For tougher targets, the Arbites Shotgun and its Special Issue ammunition will pack the required punch.
Pricing & Editions
The Arbites Class DLC is available in several tiers:
- Standard Edition: £9.99
- Deluxe Edition: £14.99 (Includes additional cosmetics)
- Cosmetic Upgrade: £5.49 (Upgrades the Standard Edition to Deluxe)
FREE Battle for Tertium Update Overhauls the Game
Alongside the paid class, a colossal free update lands for all players, significantly reworking core aspects of the game.
- Reworked Campaign & Mission Board – The core player experience has been overhauled to provide a clearer narrative focus. The Battle for Tertium is now a linear campaign with new cinematic mission debriefs, designed to ease new players into the world and its mechanics. The Mission Board has also been reworked; missions are no longer tied to a specific difficulty. Instead, you now select your mission then choose your desired difficulty, massively increasing the options available at any one time.
- Mortis Trials & New Events – The Mortis Trials activity gets new narrative secrets to uncover about Shipmistress Brahms, as well as a new, higher Auric difficulty level with faster, tougher enemy waves. Furthermore, the Inferno in-game event kicks off today and runs until July 7th, setting the streets of Tertium aflame and offering valuable rewards for those brave enough to enter the hot zone.
- Quality of Life Improvements – This update is packed with enhancements, including an increased maximum number of operatives (now 8), an increased number of weapon loadouts (now 8), and a staggering ~900 new lines of banter between both the original cast and the new Arbites class.

A Shot of Variety for the Hive City
This dual release of paid and free content marks one of Darktide’s most significant updates yet, addressing key areas of feedback since launch. In our 4/5 review of the base game, we praised its visceral combat but noted a potential issue with longevity: “If I did have one little complaint, it is that the missions do get a little samey after a while… Still, there is a lot of fun to be had in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.”
The reworked mission board and new linear narrative directly tackle this, while the Arbites class offers a completely new way to experience that fun, visceral combat.
Whether you’re a veteran Reject looking for a fresh challenge or a new player ready to be guided through Tertium’s chaos, there has never been a better time to serve the Emperor. It’s time to restore order… by any means necessary.
