The great thing about LEGO is that you can amend it at any time. The same goes for video games and right now your LEGO Worlds experience is seeing a few changes – the most notable of which is the introduction of the new Sandbox Mode.

Already available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, LEGO Worlds is the most creative building experience yet, allowing your imagination to run wild. That imagination can now be expanded upon as the Sandbox Mode lets you mess around with all of the game’s tools, objects and bricks instantly. If that appeals to you, then you should be aware that Sandbox will see the LEGO Worlds tutorial skipped, whilst some of the rarest creatures will remain locked until you discover them in Adventure Mode.

Also available is a brand new UI that updates the front menu and removes a few little prompts from the game, whilst new models and themes will be making their way to the latest LEGO title very soon. These include Nexo knight and City Emergency themes, delivering new characters, creatures, vehicles, props and items.

Full details:

  • Sandbox Mode – An immersive building experience where players can let their imaginations run wild with all of the game’s tools, objects and bricks instantly available at their fingertips. This mode will skip the LEGO® Worlds’ tutorial worlds, so new players will want to try Adventure Mode first in order to fully understand the tools — and some of the rarest, harder to find creatures are locked until they’re found in Adventure Mode.
  • New Models for the Brick Build Showcase Coming Soon – Players should keep an eye out for new models coming soon to the Brick Build Showcase. The brick built models will include new characters, creatures, vehicles, props and items from the Nexo Knight and City Emergency themes, with even more themes to follow.
  • Updated UI – The LEGO® Worlds updated user interface includes a new Front Menu and the removal of a few prompts from in-game.

If you haven’t yet played LEGO Worlds and fancy checking it out on Xbox One, then the Xbox Games Store should be your next port of call. That is unless you wish to know more about it, in which case our full review should sort you out.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
