Brick-breakers may have been around since the dawn of time, but we love them nonetheless, lapping up the chance to smash as much as we can, as often as possible. It’s just that which we’ll be doing in Shatter Remastered Deluxe.

Coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC (through Steam and Windows) in late 2022, Shatter Remastered Deluxe brings you classic brick-breaking action like you have never seen it before, as the award-winning classic delivers a high-impact experience that will push your brick-breaking skills to the limit.

When it hits later in the year, Shatter Remastered Deluxe will be found as the optimized version of the critically acclaimed game that reimagined the genre from developer and publisher PikPok (Agent Intercerpt). It’ll have players breaking through richly detailed sci-fi-inspired stages with improved VFX running at native 4K 120 FPS, fine-tuned innovative gameplay mechanics, and a completely remixed soundtrack in 5.1 surround sound.

And whilst numbers may be good, this is one that is likely to draw in many; not just those players that enjoy games that are easy to learn but hard to master, but those also looking for an intense arcade action experience.

Your task will be to master mind-bending physics to manipulate and bounce balls at increasingly complex geometric structures, destroying bricks with intuitive controls which have been fine tuned for console, Mac and PC. It’ll allow you to take advantage of the unique “Suck and Blow” mechanic too, controlling the angle of each ball’s trajectory for precision attacks. Expect to be grabbing some pretty essential powerups like the Unstoppaball and Maneuveraball to deliver maximum damage too.

In all, seventy-one stages of action await, with each presenting unique challenges as you progress. These will be split across no less than ten distinct worlds, with you lining up precision shots in an attempt to win insane boss battles, which will require you to collect Shards and unleash the powerful Shardstorm.

You’ll also get to overcome additional challenges by unlocking bonus gameplay options including Endless, Boss Rush, and Time Attack modes. Compete for high scores on global leaderboards or team up with friends in Endless Co-op Multiplayer and Time Attack Co-op Multiplayer for local couch co-op sessions.

Oh, and to seal the brick-breaking deal, a thumping original soundtrack from acclaimed producer Module should keep you in the zone, deepening the experience.

“When we launched the original Shatter in 2009, we were blown away by the critical acclaim and success, and the industry recognition and awards were confirmation we had succeeded in our goal of reinventing the brick-breaking genre,” said Mario Wynands, CEO, PikPok. “As a recognized ‘modern retro’ classic, we are excited to now bring Shatter Remastered Deluxe to a contemporary audience taking advantage of all the capabilities of the consoles of today, including stunning 4k resolution, enhanced FX, and a 5.1 surround sound remastered soundtrack.”

Expect to see Shatter Remastered Deluxe arrive on a digital store near you in late 2022 for around $9.99. It will hit Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC, with a ton of languages in tow – Arabic, Chinese (Traditional & Simplified), Croatian, Czech, Dutch, Danish, English, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Portugal), Portuguese (Brazillian), Romanian, Russian, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Mexican/Latin American), Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese language support.

Get it Wishlisted on Steam.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
