Coffee Talk takes that feeling and puts it into a coffee shop setting, but one with a difference. And the best thing about it? It’s now available on Xbox One – alongside options for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
For a start, this coffee shop only opens as the moon rises, and the customers aren’t exclusively human. But their stories and problems are very much so.
You see, Coffee Talk is a visual novel where you take control of your own coffee shop and, by serving drinks and listening to customer’s problems and interactions, may learn a few things about this quirky bunch. They include vampires, werewolves, succubi, aliens, and the occasional human too.
Your responsibilities extend through just listening, these customers have a thirst as well. Create their preferred drinks using the ingredients you have on offer; crafting the correct drinks is the only way to fully see through each character’s story arcs.
By combining storytelling, pixel art and a lo-fi chill-hop soundtrack, Coffee Talk aims to be the game that you play on an evening, with your on freshly brewed drink at the side. And our review goes into how well the game achieves that.
