Little Nightmares III gets an October 2025 launch

The flickering candlelight of hope has a new date to aim for. After a period of quiet, the next chapter in the beautifully unsettling universe of Little Nightmares is finally upon us. Yep, we’ve got a launch date for Little Nightmares III. As an Enhanced Edition of the original game instantly becomes available.

During a dedicated showcase event, Bandai Namco has announced that Little Nightmares III will officially launch on October 10th, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.

This news comes as a wealth of new information on the franchise was revealed, including details on a new chapter, a host of transmedia projects, and the exciting milestone of the series surpassing 20 million units sold.

A Long-Awaited Return to The Nowhere

Fans have been patiently waiting for news on the next instalment. After being originally slated for a 2024 launch, Supermassive Games is now ready to confirm the new October 10th, 2025, release date, with pre-orders going live for all platforms (with Switch versions to follow at a later date).

The Horrors of the Carnevale

A new trailer and gameplay deep dive gave us a closer look at the journey of our new protagonists, Low & Alone, as they seek a way out of the Spiral, a world filled with delusions. Trapped and desperate, these two new characters must rely on each other to survive. Their journey will test their courage and their bond as they navigate a world determined to keep them.

The new gameplay focuses on the Carnevale, a decrepit and haunting funfair. This new location is filled with terrifying new threats and intricate environmental puzzles that Low & Alone must overcome together.

Pre-Orders and a Plethora of Editions

Pre-ordering any edition of Little Nightmares III will grant players access to the Dark Six Costumes Set. For those who pre-order a digital copy, there’s an extra special bonus: immediate early access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.

This new version of the original classic features technical enhancements like ray tracing and volumetric lighting, as well as gameplay improvements.

Several editions of Little Nightmares III are available for pre-order:

  • Standard Edition
  • Digital Deluxe Edition: Includes the Secrets of The Spiral – Expansion Pass and the Residents Costumes Pack.
  • Collector “Mirror Edition”: Includes all digital deluxe content plus a figurine, metal case, physical artbook, and the soundtrack.
  • Premium Collector “Spiral Edition”: A Bandai Namco Store exclusive that enhances the Collector’s Edition with a music box base for the figurine, a Nome controller/phone holder, and more.

The World of Little Nightmares Expands

The showcase also revealed that the universe is growing far beyond the games. A second season of the hit podcast, The Sounds of Nightmares, is being written. A new comic book series from Titan Comics, Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere, will release its first issue in October 2025. A young adult novel, Little Nightmares: The Lonely Ones, arrives in September 2025. And finally, both a new VR game, Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, and a stop-motion project are also in development.

The signal has been sent, and the path out of The Nowhere is now marked on the calendar. For those brave enough to walk it, the horrors and wonders of the Spiral await when Little Nightmares III launches this autumn.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
