Wales Interactive and Splendy Games have been busy working away on a new title – one that will attempt to scare the living daylights out of ya!

Coming in the Summer of 2016, The Bunker is a live-action psychological horror title. Starring Adam Brown from The Hobbit trilogy, Sarah Greene – she of Penny Dreadful fame – and Game of Thrones’ Grahame Fox amongst others, it promises to bring a pure live action cinematic experience with CGI or motion capture.

The story is being written and developed by talent whom were previously behind games like Broken Sword, The Witcher, and SOMA, telling the tale of John. A boy born in a secret government nuclear bunker in England on 3rd July 1986, the day the bombs fell. 30 years later, everyone you knew and loved has died. You exist as best you can, following the rules and sticking to your routine. But one day something goes wrong, taking you out of your routine, out of your room, and down deeper and deeper into the bowels of the bunker. But the bunker holds a dark secret, locked away in your suppressed memories, but which must be confronted if you are to survive the horrors which await you…

The full features of The Bunker are as follows:

  • An incredible star cast delivering powerful performances including Adam Brown (The Hobbit, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful, Assassin’s Creed 3), Grahame Fox (Game of Thrones) and Jerome St. John Blake (Star Wars franchise).
  • A purely live action cinematic game, with no CGI actors or motion capture.
  • A complex, twisting, riveting plot written by award-winning multi-narrative screenwriters with over 20 years experience writing on top titles such as Broken Sword, The Witcher and SOMA.
  • Players can explore the bunker right to its deepest depths, searching for clues to help John, solving problems, and as they go unlocking John’s dark suppressed childhood memories.
  • As they explore, players have the option to read manuals/diaries/secret documents, access computer files and listen to cassette recording to reveal stories, suspicions and voices from the past, giving them an extra layer of depth to the story.
  • The Bunker is full of achievements and hidden secrets, including a bonus Wooden Toy collection where eagle-eyed players can collect the wooden toys scattered around the bunker by John when he was younger.
  • A stunning, terrifying neo-retro soundtrack by talented UK composer Dom Shovelton which will be available as exclusive DLC.
  • Everything in the game was shot for real in a genuine decommissioned nuclear bunker in Essex, England (which you can find by driving to Brentwood and looking for the ‘Secret Nuclear Bunker – this way’ sign!)

Whilst there is no confirmation of which consoles The Bunker will be appearing on, chances are we’ll find it at some point on our Xbox One’s. In fact, we’d be hugely disappointed if that wasn’t the case so as soon as confirmation is to be had, we shall let you know.

For now though, the teaser below will have to suffice.
