Lonely Mountains Snow Riders Highlands

Forget the spooky sights this Halloween; the most breathtaking (and perhaps perilous) new environment to explore today is a mist-covered Scottish mountain in Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders.

The serene yet challenging world of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is expanding once again as developer and publisher Megagon Industries releases the Highlands DLC, a brand-new, fully-fledged mountain inviting players to carve through golden forests and discover ancient mysteries.

This beautiful new alpine setting, Ben Fiadhein, is available to explore right now on Xbox and PC, offering a perfect autumnal escape for downhill enthusiasts.

Welcome to Ben Fiadhein

Priced at ÂŁ6.39, the Highlands pack isn’t just a few extra slopes; it’s an entirely new Lonely Mountain, transporting riders to the rugged beauty of the Scottish wilderness.

This new environment is packed with atmosphere. Players will carve their way through vibrant golden forests, discover the secrets of ancient ruins, ride along the shores of mighty rivers, and navigate treacherous, foggy swamps.

The new area is crowned by the mysterious Castle Rioghail, offering stunning new vistas for explorers.

Further, the mountain is split across four brand-new trails, with each trail featuring two different slopes (for eight new runs in total). As expected, these new slopes are packed with fresh challenges, including new time trials, trick challenges, and free ride objectives designed to push your skills to the limit.

New Rewards, Leaderboards, and Multiplayer

Conquering the challenges of Ben Fiadhein comes with a fresh set of cosmetic rewards, and new ways to prove your mastery against the community.

Players can unlock a brand-new wardrobe of items, including comfy autumn clothing (perfect for the season!), traditional Highlands kilts, and even a full set of medieval armour. Be warned, though: the developers cheekily note that the armour doesn’t come with any extra protection!

As with all Lonely Mountains content, the new trails are built for both competition and cooperation. The Highland trails have been added to the public quickmatch rotation for all players to enjoy.

However, only those who own the Highlands DLC will have the ability to host private tours on the new mountain, which is perfect for training with friends before you take on the global leaderboards.

A Brilliantly Different Ride

This new expansion builds perfectly on the game’s core strengths: serene exploration mixed with high-stakes, risk-reward gameplay. In our 4.5/5 scored review of the base game, we called it “More of the same, but brilliantly different… Those who adored the Downhill scene should jump at the chance of switching sport, proving to the world once again that with great risk comes great reward. And this time, if you need some multiplayer madness to complement things, you’ll be well catered for.“

The Highlands DLC is another perfect excuse to embrace that addictive gameplay loop and dive into the multiplayer madness on a stunning new mountain.

It’s time to strap on your skis or snowboard and find all the new hidden shortcuts that Ben Fiadhein has to offer. The Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders – Highlands DLC offers a beautiful new alpine playground for both explorers and speedrunners alike, and it’s available to download now on Xbox and PC.

Head over to the Xbox Store page and grab it. Considering the base game is in Game Pass, it’s hardly going to make a dent on your wallet.
