A world of puzzles awaits players with Long Ago: A Puzzle Tale as it launches on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Available to purchase and download right now, Long Ago: A Puzzle Tale comes from the GrimTalin team as they provide gamers on multiple formats the chance to take in a puzzling affair in which the narrative behind it all is delivered in rhyme.
Having previously delivered The Adventures of Elena Temple back in 2019, Long Ago is an altogether different affair – relaxing, colourful and pushed out with a fully voiced narrative that is focused on a brave princess who is looking for freedom.
“I wanted to make the kind of puzzle game that I feel would’ve been almost a AAA puzzle game back in the day, when the genre was still a major one in the industry.” explained Catalin Marcu, the game’s creator. “Now the grid based puzzle genre feels over-represented by games with 2D cartoony esthetics and a list of levels to scroll through. Not that there’s anything wrong with those, but I wanted to make something different. A puzzle game with 3D visuals, lush vegetation, lots of mechanics to figure out, a decent story to unravel and high production values overall – as high as I could as a solo indie developer.”
Long Ago: A Puzzle Tale features no less than 80 puzzles plus a number of additional variations, all split across chapters which in turn are able to provide their own unique game mechanics and visuals. With unlockable skins, beautiful environments and a rather tasty looking hints system which should ensure you’re never stuck for long, we’ve high hopes for what this can provide.
