Tank Battle Retro
Tank Battle Retro – out now on Xbox

The simple, satisfying, and addictive joy of a classic arcade tank shooter has just rumbled its way onto Xbox, and Tank Battle Retro comes with a very interesting twist.

Tank Battle Retro, a new title from developer and publisher Gametry, has launched today, 12th September 2025, on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

This thrilling retro journey is available right now for the incredibly low price of just £2.49.

A Retro Journey of Destruction

Prepare to command your tank, destroy opponents, and blast through everything in your path in a game where strategy and caution are your best allies, but even losing a life can be used to your advantage.

In Tank Battle Retro, your mission is simple: destroy your opponents. You’ll need to command your tank through over 20 levels and 20 distinctive maps, navigating through obstacles and blasting through blocks, walls, and anything else that stands in your way.

Stronger in Death

This is where Tank Battle Retro gets really interesting. Your lives are limited, and once you run out, it’s game over. However, in a unique twist, each lost life actually makes you stronger, adding a fascinating strategic layer to failure. You’ll have to balance the risk of losing a life with the potential reward of a power boost.

The game features simple yet addictive controls that deliver a fast-paced and satisfying gameplay experience. With support for up to four players in local multiplayer, you can jump into the action solo or team up with friends for some classic couch competition.

Another Great Value Title from Gametry

Developer and publisher Gametry is building a solid reputation for delivering fun, accessible, and incredibly affordable puzzle and arcade games on the Xbox platform.

This new tank shooter joins a library that has recently included the hilarious physics-brawler Ragdoll Fighter and the keen-eyed spot-the-difference puzzler Detail Detective.

Key Features

  • Retro Arcade Tank Combat: Command your tank, destroy opponents, and blast through obstacles.
  • Unique “Stronger in Death” Mechanic: Each lost life makes you more powerful.
  • 20+ Levels and 20 Distinctive Maps: A host of creative levels to conquer.
  • 4-Player Local Multiplayer: Play solo or with up to three friends.

The battlefield is waiting and your tank is ready to roll. If you’re a fan of classic arcade shooters with a unique and clever twist, Tank Battle Retro is ready for you on the Xbox store right now.
