You awake in a mansion, surrounded by zombies, puzzles and overriding fears. You could well be in any Resident Evil title, but you’re not – you’re in Heaven Dust on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, the launch of Heaven Dust follows releases on both PC through Steam and Nintendo Switch back in 2020. It’s time for Microsoft’s fan club to get in on the action this time around though, with the indienova team delivering gamers a love letter to the survival horror classics of yesteryear.

Priced at a mere £8.39, from the outside looking in Heaven Dust looks to deliver a cute take on those that have inspired it, working a strong visual style that pretty much belies what is found within.

But what is found within? Well, an exploration horror, for want of a better phrase, just one that builds in a ton of puzzles, a smattering of thrills and a story that is as immersive as it is hopeless. But hey, with it coming with a multitude of different endings, perhaps you can find the one best suited to what you need.

Should you be up for heading back to a zombie-filled land, making your way past deadly traps and horrific undead, all whilst attempting to understand what exactly the ‘Heaven Dust’ that provides the game title is, then the Xbox Store will be happy to sort you out. The game is playable on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S and we’ll have a full review of Heaven Dust on Xbox coming your way in the days ahead.

You’ll also find the game available on Steam and Nintendo Switch.

Game Description:

When you awake, you find yourself in a mansion, where was the secret research center, is now a maze full of horrible zombies and deadly traps. You’ll have to escape by overcoming your fears, collecting items, solving innovative puzzles and revealing the cruel truth. Background story In 1970, a scientific investigation team found a new virus in the blood samples from a primitive tribe called “Torkue” in New Guinea. Some scientists think it will help to reveal the secret of immortality and they called it “Heaven Dust”. It turns out that it’s not really a gift from Heaven, it opens the gate to hell instead. After the research center in New Guinea was destroyed in an accident related to the mutant virus, they brought “Heaven Dust” to the USA, then the researches were carried out entirely by their subsidiary company StarDust. A disaster is just unfolding…

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
