Lumines Remastered drops the beat on Xbox One

-

Bringing the block-rocking beats and gameplay to the Xbox One for the very first time, Lumines Remastered is available today.

Ready to download for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch, Lumines is a similar looking game to Tetris in which blocks of 2×2 squares fall onto the playing field with varying colours. The similarities end there though as Lumines tasks you with creating 2×2 blocks of the same colours. Once created, a line flowing from left to right wipes these from the playing field, and anything above drops down again.

The emphasis in Lumines is also on the background music as there are over 40 to choose from in Remastered, varying across all different genres of dance music. Every action whilst building your blocks will play a different sample from the given track, allowing you to make your own remixes. Each track also has a specific skin associated with them, changing the look and feel of the game each time.

This version of Lumines is the remastered version of the original PSP game that launched outside of Japan in 2005. Everything has been polished with HD and 4K visuals for Xbox One X owners, and each music track within the game has an increased bitrate from previous versions.

Containing modes such as Challenge, Puzzle, Mission, Time Attack and CPU and 2 Player Battles, there is plenty here to make sure the music tracks get ingrained in your head for either the first time, or all over again.

Lumines Remastered is available now priced at £11.99 from the Xbox Store. As always, let us know in the comments below if you will be purchasing this unique puzzle game and if you’re not sure, keep an eye out for our review.

Game description:

LUMINES REMASTERED brings minimalism to the puzzle genre where the fusion of light and sound sets the stage for a two-color falling block experience in HD and 4K. Groove to electronic jams while strategically dropping blocks before the BPM bar sweeps combos clean after each measure. Feel the sound: Play over 40 skins with electronic atmospheres from chill to upbeat. Shuffle skins (like a music playlist) as more are unlocked in a new Shuffle mode. Feel the challenge: Faster tempos means less time to make combos, but slower songs can mean uncleared stacks. You’ll get hooked. Feel the fun: Take the challenge to unlock all skins and avatars, play against friends in local VS 2-player mode, or climb the ranks to the top of the online leaderboards. Feel the vibration: Turn on Trance Vibration and sync multiple Xbox One controllers to feel the bass across your body.
