San Angora has fallen, civilization has collapsed, and the only thing left to do is headbutt everything in sight.
Coffee Stain have today unleashed Baadlands: Furry Road, the next major expansion for the chaotic sandbox sensation, Goat Simulator 3.
Available right now across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store), this latest DLC invites players to trade their grassy pastures for a gritty, sand-swept wasteland.
If you thought the base game was wild, you haven’t seen Pilgor driving a motorcycle through a post-apocalyptic desert yet.
Key Features of the Expansion
- A Whole New World: Explore the vast, desert expanse of “Sand” Angora, complete with hidden secrets and dangerous wildlife.
- Ride Eternal: Traverse the dunes on your very own summonable motorcycle.
- Rebuild and Destroy: Scavenge for scrap to rebuild a town, or use new gear to fight off hordes of raiders.
- New Mysteries: Tackle calamitous quests and uncover the truth behind a mysterious vault door.
Enter the Thunderdome… of Goats
In Baadlands: Furry Road, players step back into the hooves of Pilgor, who has embraced the role of wasteland survivor/antihero.
The lush greenery of the base game has been replaced by a scorching desert, teeming with leather-clad townspeople, aggressive raiders, and even terrifying dune-dwelling worms that would make a spice harvester tremble.
The core gameplay loop has been dusted with sand and chaos. You aren’t just wrecking things for fun (though there is plenty of that); you are tasked with rebuilding a town from scratch using collectable scraps found in the wild.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Goat Simulator without ridiculous new toys. Players can equip fiery new Goat Gears to battle enemies and, for the first time, summon a personal motorcycle at will to speed across the dunes.
Santiago Ferrero, Creative Director at Coffee Stain North, claims this is a high point for the series:
“Baadlands: Furry Road is the best addition to the Goat Simulator franchise since the capybara, and we’re excited for fans to experience “Sand” Angora in a brand new and (as always) highly destructive way. From pimped out cars and propeller horns, to your very own motorcycle that appears on command, getting around has never been easier – so explore to your heart’s content and headbutt some unsuspecting critters while you’re at it. The wasteland is your oyster!”
A History of Chaos
This release follows the Multiverse of Nonsense expansion, proving that Coffee Stain has plenty of gas left in the tank for supporting Goat Simulator 3.
For those who have yet to jump into the madness, a new Starter Pack has also been released today. This bundle includes the base game, the Digital Downgrade DLC, and both the Hocus Pocus and Super Duper gear packs, offering a comprehensive entry point to the mayhem.
Is Goat Simulator 3 Worth Your Time?
If you are wondering if the base game holds up before you dive into the desert, the answer is a resounding yes – provided you enjoy a specific brand of buggy brilliance. In our 4/5 review of Goat Simulator 3, we noted that the game leans into its roughness as a stylistic choice:
“Goat Simulator 3 isn’t perfect, feeling rough and ready as you play. But this is what Goat Simulator has always been… On the flip side, it is still fun solo and even more so in multiplayer. If you liked the first Goat Simulator, Goat Simulator 3 is an easy sell. And if you never played it, then strap yourself in for a crazy ride.“
The Baadlands: Furry Road expansion looks to continue this tradition of “rough and ready” fun, adding a fresh coat of chrome paint to the established formula. Whether you are on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC (Steam), the apocalypse is waiting for you.
