Magic Twins – now on Xbox and PlayStation

Breaking the rules at wizard school rarely ends well, but in Magic Twins, it leads to absolute chromatic chaos.

Previously on Switch and Steam, this one is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Play Anywhere for ÂŁ10.74, as well as PlayStation, as the vibrant co-op arcade experience from Flying Beast Labs and Artax Games throws players into a spell-slinging battle against a world gone wildly, magically wrong.

All because someone thought a free wardrobe upgrade was a good idea. What the hue indeed.

A Colourful Twist On Tower Defence

At its core, Magic Twins is a fast-paced tower defence game, but with a magical spin that keeps things feeling fresh.

Instead of placing turrets and waiting, you are right in the thick of it, firing chromagic spells directly at incoming enemies. The rule is simple: match colours to defeat foes. Red beats red, blue beats blue, and so on. Easy to learn, but once the screen fills with enemies, it quickly becomes a test of reflexes and coordination.

Whether you are playing solo and switching between Abra and Cadabra, or teaming up with a friend in co-op, success depends on quick thinking and even quicker reactions.

Double The Trouble, Double The Magic

This is very much a game built around teamwork. Playing with a partner turns every level into a frantic dance of spellcasting, as you coordinate attacks, cover each other and build up magic in your cauldron for powerful special charms.

Get it right and you will feel like true masters of chromagic. Get it wrong and… well, let’s just say things can go from magical to tragic in seconds.

A School Worth Exploring

Set within the delightfully named Mallorca’s School of Witchcraft (deffo not Hogwarts!), Magic Twins offers a surprisingly varied playground for its colourful chaos.

Across seven distinct areas and dozens of levels, you will face increasingly tricky enemy types, tougher challenges and a range of objectives to chase. Completionists can aim for three-star ratings on every stage, uncover hidden secrets and unlock plenty of stylish outfits. Because if you are going to save the world, you may as well look spellbinding while doing it.

Cute, Chaotic And Clever

There is a playful tone running throughout Magic Twins that helps it stand out. Bright, cartoon visuals mix with a slightly spooky edge, creating a world that feels both cosy and chaotic at the same time.

Accessibility options are also baked in, including multiple colour filters to ensure that as many players as possible can enjoy the chromagic madness without missing a trick.

Magic Twins is the kind of game that thrives on energy. It is bright, fast and just a little bit mischievous, blending simple ideas with increasingly demanding challenges. Whether you are teaming up with a friend or juggling both witches solo, there is plenty of fun to be found in this colourful spellcaster.

Just remember the first rule of witchcraft school next time. Or don’t. After all, breaking it worked out pretty well here.

You’ll find Magic Twins on the usual stores. We’ll point you to the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
