Make coffee and fight with some new Game Pass additions!

It may not be the greatest day for new Game Pass additions, but what more do you want in life than to make coffee and fight?

There are two new additions to the Game Pass service on Xbox and PC today, allowing players to get involved in two very distinct things.

There’s a bit of coffee making and chat found in Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly, but alongside that is Medieval Dynasty, as it makes a Day One release on Xbox One.

So what do we have in these games? Will Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly follows on from one of the finest games of 2020 – Coffee Talk.

It has you playing as a coffee shop barista, looking to help your clients get through life. Whipping up a brew is par for the course, but understanding these characters is a huge part of what makes the series so good

We’ve already reviewed Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly and we’d urge you to give that a read. Unfortunately we didn’t find it to be a patch on the original game, mentioning “Sadly, Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly can’t match up to its predecessor. It lacks the emotional impact of the first game that meant it stuck with you long after completion. There are still some very touching moments towards the end, depending on how you choose to play it, and the additional endings are welcome, but this reunion of old friends and acquaintances is lacking the same spark that the first game had to spare.“. Perhaps it’s best if you stick to the original game.

On the flip is Medieval Dynasty. This originally released as a new-gen only title back in 2022, but it obviously did well for the team behind it as it now comes to Xbox One – releasing straight into Game Pass.

If you played this first time around, we’re not sure you’ll find much new here, but if you’re one of those many players who haven’t yet taken the new-gen leap, your Medieval Dynasty time is now.

How good is it? Our Xbox Series X|S 3.5/5 review spoke of “If you’re a fan of the sim survival genre, then you should lap up and relish Medieval Dynasty. There are nothing short of hundreds of hours of things to do here, and that will appeal to those who love enduring – and flourishing – in these worlds.“. We’ll follow those word with some Xbox One thoughts soon.

So that’s your Game Pass lot today – will it be coffee making or foe taking? Let us know down in the comments.

And if you are looking for more Game Pass news, either on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S or PC then there are a few more additions due before April ends – Cassette Beasts (PC), BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Special Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC), The Last Case of Benedict Fox (Console and PC) and Farworld Pioneers.

Of course, what Game Pass gives with one hand, it takes with another and a number of games are due to leave the service on April 30th. If you’ve not yet 100%’d Bugsnax (Cloud, Console, and PC), Destroy All Humans! (Cloud, Console, and PC), Dragon Quest Builders 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC), Tetris Effect Connected (Console and PC) and Unsouled (Cloud, Console, and PC) then you need to get shifting as they are all upping and outing soon. If you want to play them after they leave, the wallet will need prising open.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
