Prepare to break down social barriers and disrupt high school cliques with the newly announced Wintermoor Tactics Club. It’s a narrative-driven, tactical RPG and we’ll see it on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch this September.
Wintermoor Tactics Club is a tactics-orientated RPG with a narrative inspired by visual novels. It’s set in high school – Wintermoor Academy – during the 1980’s, and combines the contemporary setting with some fantasy RPG combat. While exploring the academy, players will have to write tabletop campaigns in order to help students overcome their personal problems and discover their fantasy selves as the club grows. All of this is tempered by a warm and light hearted approach, alongside an earnest sense of humour, which is at the core of the game’s overall feel.
As the story unravels, the sinister truth behind the War of the Clubs becomes apparent, leading players to break down the walls of high school cliques, make new friends and unlock their true potential. There are dozens of unlockable upgrades and seven playable characters across more than 40 battles in Wintermoor Tactics Club.
“Wintermoor is really accessible for first-time tactics game players, with a puzzle-like take on the tactics combat, while at the same time giving long-time players a charming challenge to sink their teeth into,” Said Steve Escalante, GM of Versus Evil. “After launching on Steam and receiving a lot of love for the game, we’re excited to present this wonderfully funny, wholesome RPG experience to console players around the world.”
“We’re excited to work with Versus Evil to put this game on consoles, and we’re especially excited to see more people enter the world of Wintermoor”, added Ben Walker, Team Lead at EVC.
While it’s already available via Steam, independent developer EVC have partnered with independent games publisher Versus Evil to enable Wintermoor Tactics Club’s launch on 10th September for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Will you be reliving your school days by becoming a member of this elusive club when it arrives?
