Think of football and you’ll think of Manchester United. Think of the virtual game and it’s eFootball that may come to the fore. Today Konami have confirmed that the partnership between the two will continue onwards.

Having first joined forces back in 2019, Konami have now confirmed renewal of their partnership with Manchester United FC, ensuring that they remain one of the principal clubs in eFootball; Konami’s free-to-play offering.

In return, Konami stick around as the Official Football Video Game Partner of the club, retaining multiple commercial rights. This will see them holding player access, media opportunities, and the use of official club branding, imagery, and recreations in the eFootball series. You know, like they did in eFootball 2024.

During the five-year partnership period, Manchester United FC have enjoyed multiple on-pitch successes including two domestic cup wins. KONAMI has been proud to support the club in its endeavours and are excited for the continuation of the agreement.

Naoki Morita, Konami Digital Entertainment B.V.’s European President, commented:
‘It is very exciting to be announcing an extension to such a successful partnership. Manchester United FC are truly one of giants of world football, we are proud to have them as part of the eFootball series now and for the next few years thanks to this renewal. To have secured a bright future that will include a multitude of commercial, image, and esports rights and activations is fantastic for KONAMI and for the eFootball™ series. We endeavour to keep evolving our product to bring the best user experience possible’.

Florence Lafaye, Commercial Director at Manchester United FC, said: ““We are delighted that KONAMI will continue as a key member of our family of partners, and we are excited about the opportunities our involvement with the eFootball series brings. Our long-standing partnership has enabled the club to engage meaningfully with new and younger audiences as well as showcase the Manchester United brand in the digital entertainment world, an important sector for us as we look to the future.”

All you need to do is fire up the free-to-play eFootball on your format of choice and get involved. For Xbox players, the Xbox Store is the best bet at getting in on the action.
