Hunger does strange things to people. In Manny’s, it leads somewhere even stranger – a fully stocked fast food restaurant appearing out of nowhere on a deserted island. No explanation, no logic, just flickering lights, working fryers… and something that clearly isn’t right.
Now available on Xbox Series X|S and PC with Play Anywhere support for £7.39, this unsettling little horror from Bonemeal Productions and AMATA K.K. takes a simple idea and twists it into something quietly disturbing.

A Meal That Shouldn’t Exist
Manny’s starts with a familiar survival setup. A castaway, alone, starving, clinging to whatever scraps they can find. Then everything changes overnight.
A fully functioning restaurant appears on the island, complete with staff, customers and a sense that this place has always been there… even though it absolutely hasn’t. It’s the kind of premise that immediately puts you on edge, because nothing about it makes sense, and the game knows it.
You’re not just walking into a restaurant. You’re stepping into something you don’t understand.
Normal On The Surface, Wrong Underneath
What makes Manny’s work is how ordinary it tries to feel.
The staff go about their roles as if this is just another shift. Orders are taken, food is prepared, routines are followed. But beneath that normality is something far more unsettling.
There’s a presence here, from the strange behaviour of employees to a patron who seems far more dangerous than they should be. And then there’s the manager, a voice echoing from somewhere deep within the building, pulling you further inside.
It’s that contrast that builds the tension. Nothing is overtly chaotic, but everything feels off.
A Tight, Focused Horror Experience
Manny’s isn’t trying to overwhelm you with systems or sprawling mechanics. Instead, it focuses on atmosphere and narrative, letting the mystery unfold at its own pace. Exploration, observation and simply being present in this bizarre setting do most of the heavy lifting.
It’s a smaller experience, but one that seems designed to stick with you, especially as you start to question what’s really going on behind the scenes.
A Bite-Sized Horror Worth Sampling
Manny’s feels like the kind of horror that doesn’t shout for attention, but quietly gets under your skin instead.
With its unusual premise and focused design, it offers something a little different from the usual survival horror formula. If you’re after a short, strange experience that plays with expectations and leaves a few questions unanswered, this is one worth stepping into.
Just maybe don’t ask what’s on the menu.
