The survivors genre has taken players just about everywhere in recent years, from gothic castles to alien planets. Marine Survivors heads somewhere a little different, swapping haunted landscapes for the ocean depths and replacing swords and guns with ancient magic wielded by a mystical whale.

Launching on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, the budget-priced action roguelite is available in three versions, each costing ÂŁ4.19.

A Survivors Game With An Underwater Twist

If you’ve spent any time with the ever-growing wave of survivors-style games, you’ll know the routine. Defeat increasingly dangerous enemy hordes, level up, choose new abilities and try to survive just a little longer than your previous run.

Marine Survivors sticks to that addictive formula but gives it an aquatic makeover. Instead of battling across fields or dungeons, you’ll explore underwater arenas as a magical whale, casting spells against relentless waves of deep-sea creatures.

Every level-up presents another choice, allowing you to shape your build with new magical abilities that can dramatically change how each run unfolds.

Dive In And See How Long You Last

Sometimes a simple twist is all a familiar genre needs, and Marine Survivors is hoping its underwater setting is enough to tempt fans back for another run.

Whether you’re already hooked on survivors games or simply fancy something with a different look and feel, Marine Survivors is now available via the Xbox Store, with versions present that work on Xbox One, are fully optimised for Xbox Series X|S and playable on Windows PC. Whichever you grab, it’s priced at ÂŁ4.19 for each version.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
