2026's Best Games

The official keyart for Marvel Rivals Season 7.5

There’s no easing into things with Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 – it arrives with a clear message: the hunt is officially on. This mid-season update doesn’t just tweak the formula, it expands it in multiple directions, introducing a new hero, fresh modes, and a roadmap that hints at even bigger things to come.

Available across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Marvel Rivals continues to evolve its fast-paced hero shooter, and Season 7.5 might be one of its most feature-packed updates yet.

At A Glance

  • Game: Marvel Rivals
  • Update: Season 7.5 – The Hunt is On
  • Launch Date: April 17th, 2026
  • Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
  • New Hero: Black Cat (Duelist)
  • New Mode: Blood Hunt PvE (launches April 23rd)
  • Events: Hellfire Gala returns, Path to Doomsday begins

Black Cat Joins The Fight

Stealing the spotlight this season is Black Cat, joining the roster as a fast, agile Duelist built around mobility and opportunism.

She’s designed to disrupt enemy teams, darting across the battlefield with wall-climbing and double jumps, before striking at the perfect moment. Her core mechanic – stealing “Fortune” from enemies – allows her to boost her own power and turn the tide of fights in creative ways.

It’s a playstyle that rewards timing and precision, offering something a little different from the more direct damage dealers already in the game.

Blood Hunt Brings PvE Into The Spotlight

Perhaps the biggest addition arrives a bit later.

From April 23rd, Blood Hunt introduces a brand-new PvE mode, complete with its own storyline, progression systems, loot mechanics and four major boss encounters. It’s a notable expansion for Marvel Rivals, which has largely focused on PvP up to now.

This mode looks set to provide a more structured, cooperative experience – ideal for players wanting a break from competitive play without leaving the game behind.

New Team-Ups And Tactical Depth

Season 7.5 also expands on the game’s team synergy systems.

The new Lucky Loan Team-Up sees Black Cat linking with White Fox and Captain America, enhancing their abilities in unique ways, from boosted healing and mobility to improved defensive precision.

These evolving team combinations continue to be one of Marvel Rivals’ strongest ideas, encouraging experimentation and rewarding coordinated play.

And cosmetics take centre stage once again with the return of the Hellfire Gala. This year’s event brings a fresh wave of themed outfits for characters like Magik, Gambit, Moon Knight, Emma Frost and Phoenix. There’s also a nice bonus for players in the form of the community-voted Emma Frost Gala Star costume that will be available for free.

The Road To Doomsday Begins

Looking slightly further ahead, Season 7.5 sets the stage for what’s next.

From April 30th, Path to Doomsday: The Avengers Mode kicks off, introducing asymmetrical gameplay centred around Loki. It’s another sign that Marvel Rivals is willing to experiment with its structure, rather than sticking rigidly to standard hero shooter conventions.

Further, the update also includes a useful PC optimisation, allowing players to remove the high-resolution texture pack as a separate download, freeing up around 35GB of storage if needed. It’s a small change, but one that shows attention to player feedback.

Building On A Strong Foundation

This update follows on from the start of Season 7 which introduced White Fox, a new map and additional features – and it’s clear the team isn’t slowing down.

As we said in our 4.5/5 review of Marvel Rivals: “All in all, Marvel Rivals is a blast… an incredibly diversified hero shooter experience where you CAN bring a demonic sword to a gunfight!”

A Season Packed With Possibility

There’s a lot going on in Marvel Rivals right now. From a nimble new hero to a full PvE mode and evolving seasonal events, Season 7.5 feels like a turning point, expanding the game beyond its original scope while keeping its core intact.

Whether you’re chasing competitive wins or just curious about what Blood Hunt brings to the table, there’s plenty of reason to jump back in. Because in this hunt, standing still isn’t really an option.
