Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite gets official release date, Collector’s Edition and new details!

-

Are you sitting comfortably? Then we shall begin – it’s only brand new game details, Collector’s Edition announcements AND an official release date for Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite!

Capcom have today confirmed a hulk-sized amount of information regarding Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite, the latest in the action-fighting series which will be hitting Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

First up, the release date, and you’ll be finding Infinite arriving on September 19th 2017. Glad we got that bit out of the way.

And then we move onto the details and for the first time in the franchise history, the Marvel and Capcom universes will collide with an immersive Story Mode, putting heroes and villains together as they attempt to save their merged worlds from a new threat – Ultron Sigma. A combination of the robotic foes known as Ultron from the Marvel Universe and Sigma from the Capcom Universe, this psychotic villain is obsessed with infecting all organic life with a cybernetic virus. History’s greatest gathering of warriors must now unite to fight back against Ultron Sigma and save their newly formed world.

Also announced today are more characters, all of whom have joined the battle for survival against the forces of evil. They include:

  • Ultron
  • Hulk
  • Thor
  • Hawkeye
  • Rocket Raccoon
  • Chun-Li
  • Strider Hiryu
  • Chris Redfield

Each new character will feature unique abilities, iconic special moves and join the likes of Captain Marvel, Iron Man and Captain America from the Marvel side, and Ryu, Mega Man X and Morrigan from Capcom. Powerful, game-changing Infinity Stones further deepen the gameplay and will allow players to equip and unleash elemental in-game powers, such as Time, Power and Space.

But that’s not all, as in addition to the cinematic story experience, single player Arcade, Training and Mission modes and vast multiplayer options will provide both memorable experiences and infinite gameplay possibilities for players of nearly all skill levels.

So far so good then eh? Well, if you’re liking what you’re reading then you may be interested to hear that the pre-orders for Infinite kick off today with the $59.99 Standard Edition and $89.99 Deluxe Edition both becoming available.

The Deluxe Edition includes the main game (as you would expect) on PS4 or Xbox One and a 2017 Character Pass, which contains access to six all-new additional post-launch characters including Sigma, the main antagonist from the Mega Man® X series. Pre-order bonuses for all versions in North America include Warrior Thor and Evil Ryu costumes, but you’ll need to check with each individual retailer for European details. The pre-order bonus for the Deluxe Edition is the same as the Standard Edition, but also includes two additional costumes: Gladiator Hulk and Mega Man Command Mission X. For specific details, please check with individual retailers.

Finally, Capcom have also confirmed that a limited MARVEL VS. CAPCOM: INFINITE Collector’s Edition, brought to you by TriForce, is available for pre-order on PS4 and Xbox One. It will include four premium character dioramas of Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Mega Man X and Chun-Li, a case filled with six Infinity Stone replicas, as well as SteelBook packaging that contains the Deluxe Edition of the game, all for only $199.99. Again, those contents may vary depending on region.

Of course, we’ll bring you more as and when the details drop, but for now…trailer anyone?
