The Sun is out, people are heading down to the beach, and ice creams are being devoured. But does anyone fancy a Barbiecue?
Well, one is being served up, as Mattel and Outright Games have announced that a brand-new Barbie game will be launching later this year. Barbie Project Friendship sees two Barbies endeavour to save an area of Malibu that is in desperate need of renovation, and will have lots of fun and make many friends in the process!
A Full Makeover
Barbie Project Friendship sees both Barbie “Malibu” Roberts and Barbie “Brooklyn” Roberts venture on down to Malibu, on a mission to renovate the run-down Malibu Waves Community Center.
To do so, players will make their way through this colourful beach locale, cleaning up the area and partaking in a number of fun activities with iconic Barbie characters. Make ice cream with Ken, customise scooters with Nikki, and we’ve heard that Teresa needs some help in the arcade.
Head writer of multiple Barbie series and specials like Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures and Barbie A Touch of Magic, Ann Austen, is also on board. She provides her special touch to Barbie Project Friendship, in addition to multiple voice actors from the English version of the TV Series.
A Word from the Devs
Of course, no Barbie property gets the greenlight until Mattel – the founders of the Barbie brand – say so. Erika Winterholler, Head of Business Development, Digital Gaming at Mattel, had this to say on their exciting announcement:

So, when will Barbie Project Friendship be available for players across the globe? The all-important date is October 25th, and the game will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
