Ready to drop in and explore an all new Melty Blood world? One that has been put together by Kinoko Nasu, basing things on what happened in Tsukihime: A piece of blue glass moon? You’ll be able to do just that with the launch of Melty Blood: Type Lumina.
Available to purchase and download right now, Melty Blood: Type Lumina arrives on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC as the 5th instalment in the Tsukihime fighting saga. Priced at £39.99 for the standard edition (that’s from the Xbox Store so prices may vary slightly elsewhere), Melty Blood: Type Lumina promises all new stories, visuals and characters.
Based on A Piece of blue glass moon, Melty Blood: Type Lumina comes with more than 10 characters for you to enjoy, each of whom are delivered with their own upgraded visuals. When you include the fact that the environments have had a bit of an HD makeover too, and the battle system has been rebuilt from the ground up, this should well feel like the most modern of Melty Blood titles.
As you’d expect to hear, it still retains the old spirit and whilst the new system and ideas should be familiar, combos are most definitely at home here, allowing for deeper gameplay and more intense battles than before.
It all seems a bit of a delight if we’re honest, yet if you wish to get involved with Melty Blood: Type Lumina you will have to make a decision of two. You see, whilst the Standard edition of the game will happily cover what you need, there’s also a Deluxe Edition available too, setting you back a cool £57.99. Should you plump for this one you’ll find some addition content in tow.
But further to that is a host of individual DLC pieces that have utterly filled the Xbox Store library. These are bundled in the Round Announcements – 13 Character Set for £24.98, or individually for £2.49 each. Expect all of the following bases covered…
- Kouma Kishima
- Hisui
- Miyako Arima
- Saber
- Kohaku
- Red Arcueid
- Noel
- Shiki Tohno
- Ciel
- Akiha Tohno
- Vlov
- Roa
