Meowgic Mix Brews Up Cozy Puzzle Fun On PC & Console

2026's Best Games

The official keyart for Meowgic Mix as the puzzle game launches on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC
Master some feline magic in Meowgic Mix

A potion bottle slides one square too far, and a cauldron waits, as a little cat pauses, recalculates and nudges it back into place. That quiet moment of logic and adjustment is the heart of Meowgic Mix.

Now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC, this one is priced at ÂŁ4.19 on the Xbox Store.

Developed and published by Afil Games, this cozy pixel-art puzzler continues the studio’s run of minimalist, grid-based brain teasers. This time around you’ll find it all wrapped in a magical academy setting and powered by feline alchemy.

A Classroom Of Carefully Crafted Challenges

Meowgic Mix unfolds across 30 stages set within a whimsical magical academy. Each level presents a compact puzzle space filled with potion bottles and waiting cauldrons.

Your task is simple – push the correct potions to their matching destinations. The thing is, the execution demands careful planning.

Every movement counts. Push a bottle into the wrong corner and you may block your own solution. Take an inefficient route and you’ll need to rethink your approach entirely.

The game’s sokoban-inspired design is clear and you should really know how this one will play out. But it’s in the fantasy framing and soft presentation that you’ll find the warmer, more inviting tone than the genre sometimes carries. And believe us, we’ve played enough Afil Games titles and sokobans to know exactly what that entails.

Another Focused Release From Afil Games

Afil Games has steadily built a catalogue of compact puzzle experiences. In our review of Cute Astro, we noted that its sokoban puzzling was competent but minimalist. Capy Spa earned similar praise for delivering straightforward box-pushing wrapped in a light theme.

Meowgic Mix follows those vibes closely. It doesn’t overhaul the formula or introduce wild mechanics. Instead, it refines a familiar structure within a magical setting that feels cohesive and polished.

If you’ve enjoyed the studio’s previous efforts, this will feel comfortably familiar, just with more potions and paws.

Small Scale, Solid Value

At ÂŁ4.19, Meowgic Mix offers a concise but satisfying puzzle experience. Thirty levels provide enough variety to challenge without overwhelming, and the gentle pacing makes it ideal for short sessions.

Available now across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, it’s a calm, clever addition to the growing list of bite-sized console puzzlers. If you’re heading to the Xbox Store, you’ll find three versions kicking around too – Xbox Series X|S Optimised, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Whichever version you nab, not every magical academy needs epic battles. Sometimes, all it takes is a cat, a cauldron and a perfectly placed potion.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
