Super Evil Megacorp today unleashes the biggest update yet for its action-roguelike, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate. This huge content drop features the arrival of a new playable hero in the paid Metalhead Character DLC, alongside a brand-new, completely free Arcade Mode for all players.
This massive wave of new content is available today for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, offering something for every kind of Turtles fan.
Weapons Calibrated: Metalhead Enters the Fight!
The headline act of today’s new content is the arrival of the sixth playable hero on the Splintered Fate roster. For a modest price, players can now add the loveable, locked, and loaded Metalhead to their team.
Metalhead introduces a completely fresh way to play as the game’s first fully ranged character. Armed with a powerful laser gun, explosive landmines, and other tactical skills, he brings a new layer of strategy to your runs. His abilities have a natural affinity with the new, free Robotics Powers, allowing for some devastating builds.
The paid Metalhead DLC also includes five new Artifacts that can dramatically alter your gameplay in interesting ways, such as granting random tools, preventing healing in exchange for more currency, or even giving you an extra Splinter’s Revive.
FREE For All Players: A Massive Title Update
Even if you don’t pick up the Metalhead DLC, a colossal free update has been deployed for all owners of the base game, headlined by an entirely new game mode.
Jump into the brand-new Arcade Mode, an intense, fast-paced, and unpredictable experience designed for quick sessions. Central to this mode is the new Hex and Flex system. At each level break, you will choose one of three combos that can both empower you with strong advantages (Flex) and weaken you with serious drawbacks (Hex), making every run a unique strategic adventure.
This free mode also includes:
- Three new biomes that twist reality: the Spectral Sewers, Astral Ship, and Manic Metropolis.
- An all-new Wraith enemy set with multiple teleporting, projectile-firing variants.

Even if you don’t buy Metalhead, his arrival brings free content for everyone. A new Robotics Turtle Power tree has been added, alongside new Drone tools for ranged support, a new “Pizza in Peril” storyline connected to the Arcade Mode, and a new Artifact to discover.

The introduction of the Hex and Flex system in the new Arcade Mode, with its promise of “major variety (and plenty of chaos) to each run,” is a direct and exciting answer to that critique. It offers a fresh, unpredictable way to engage with the game’s excellent combat, while the addition of a completely new ranged character in Metalhead provides a whole new strategic lens through which to play.
